  1. Was at MATS Thursday and today till noon (back home now). Lots of people (too many for me). Mack display was so so....same ole black paint. Took a few pics. No old trucks inside. Rained all day Thursday but sunny, cold, and windy today. Did not look at any of the show trucks outside.
  2. As the saying goes....you can't fix stupid!
  3. I am at MATS and I stopped by the Mack exhibit. I asked one of the Mack guys who made the sleepers. He thought it was the same company that makes the cab. I mentioned about a fire and he said it was a fire at the HOOD manufacturer. This guy works in the aftermarket parts area and he said Mack was upset because they cannot get hoods for production and field service. So hopefully this answers your question why your CXU is on hold.
  4. While we are in the gutter.... Yardo - Do you employ NITs at the Truckstop?
  5. Several variables concerning oil pressure - oil temperature, oil viscosity (not just new but used), pump rpm, pump wear, and variations in pumps. That is why the range.
  6. Curious...did it go to Canada to Tackaberry?
  7. Maybe you should light a fire under your sales person's a$$!
  8. Most fuel line connections (pump end and nozzle end) use tapered seats.
  9. Nice. My neck hurts How fast were you going? RPMs (high and low)? Good luck!!!
  10. Mike, I could duct tape a freebie Harbor Freight LED flashlight to the headliner.
  11. Thanks Mike! I am looking for a "stock" lamp.
  12. There is also Gerhart's All-Mack Show; Lititz, PA the first Saturday in October.
  13. Mike, Does the MH have a map/reading lamp in the center of the headliner?
  14. I uploaded the service manual for the PS/POS 9/10 speed transmission. If you look at the picture on the front page you will see a bell housing bolted to the transmission. I am no expert but my guesses are bushing, bearing, or perhaps a gear but think it would be cheaper to repair than replace. I would take it somewhere else for repair.

  16. Ron, A friend sent me these pics taken at Myrtle Beach Show-Auto-Run. Your next project?
  17. Since I am an engineer I like technology but all this new "crap" (facebook, ipad, smartphones, etc.) is worthless in my book. Has it really improved our quality of life? I get tired of seeing people walking/driving around in a daze texting or talking on their phones. Only the wifey and my mom are important to me (well maybe some BMT people). Wifey knows how to get in touch with me when we are not together and mom is almost deaf and in a nursing home with dementia. Otherwise, call and leave a message or send an email. If you call, send me an email so I can make sure the cell phone is turned on. I do like bluetooth in my car if I want to talk while driving. As I said before, I have more important things to do....even it if is nothing. Done with rant...going back to my corner...
  18. I am not opening a Facebook account....nope, no way, never gonna happen. Unless Facebook pays me BIG $,$$$,$$$$.
  19. Send a note to the museum with your VIN. They likely will be able to give you the serial numbers of the components. BTW, a donation to the museum is recommended.
  20. Yardo, Grant and I were buds. Do you want to see my battle scars?
  21. Next week I am going to MATS and see if anyone is selling tie down "stuff". I checked the front drop area and I only have 4" between the "bumper" boards so a standard E-track (5" wide) will not work. My other option is a L-track. Seriously thinking of buying these single point tie downs and install along the sides (USCC $20 for 4). BTW, I bought a pair of folding ramps from Discount Ramps - Big Boy EZ Rizer 12' long.
  22. Paul, Sounds nice. I am retired but no money and no time. Hmmm, I must have done something wrong.
  23. Yardo, York is not far from Gettysburg. And another thing, who is bringing the NITs for Saturday's nooner? Carl, I received my registration packet. Fancy name tag and lanyard. I need to talk to my State Farm agent and get a letter of insurance for my goof cart.

Send a note to Captain Barry. Perhaps he can help. And as I say...phones are for talking, cameras are for pics, and computers are for emails, forums, etc.
