Back when I worked at the CAT house I was involved with the initial development of a RTB. One day at the Proving Grounds I "tried" to operate the hoe. Well after about 15 minutes I said "f it" and went back to my desk. I guess I am not coordinated enough to operate one of them there machines.

Nice looking R but in order to guestimate a price more information and details are needed. How many miles, engine rebuilt, condition before restoration, condition of tires, brakes, etc.? But in the end, you are the one that needs to put a price on it.

Cummins L10 (actually 9L displacement) was introduced in 1982. The L10 was replaced by the M11 in 1994. The Mack E7 engine (12L) had a similar design to the L10 with mid-stop liners.

Interesting dash. I would try to keep it original with the tach-o-graph. But as they say "it is your truck."

Send a note to Don S at the Museum and ask for a copy of the build sheet. He will likely send you a PDF. Or just ask what engine was installed at the factory.

My MH is single axle with spring rear suspension. It is like riding a bucking bronco without a trailer. The air ride seat helps "tame" the ride. If I put anything in the sleeper it needs to be secured otherwise it will be on the floor. My trailer is a 28' drop van with single axle air ride. With the trailer connected and very little weight in the trailer, the MH does not "bounce" around. I like the way it handles and rides. I have a several stacks of furniture blankets and a small storage trunk in the trailer. The items don't move around the trailer. The added weight of the trailer on the fifth wheel helps improve the ride too. I never pulled a spring suspension trailer with the MH but I would recommend an air ride trailer based on my experience.

AC had some great products. AC was the first farm tractor with a turbo. My only complaint with the tractors (WC/CA thru 190/210) was the lack of a "true" live PTO. The transmission disconnect was their answer until later tractors (6000 series IIRC).

If it is fuel being sprayed around/on the manifold....BE CAREFUL....you might have an "underhood event."

I don't like buying anything sight unseen but the seller needs to provide details and detailed pics. Sometimes sellers don't want to take the time, they just want a quick sale. Not saying this is the case with the Superliner but just saying.

Make sure you transfer your original (old) VIN to the "new" cab.
