  1. Paul?
  2. I guess others know what a prove light is but I do not. Please tell me (and Ron) what is a prove light. Thanks!
  3. Are you getting blue smoke? If not, then check for worn/misfit valve guides, no "slobber" shields, or unburned fuel (injectors). If you are blowing blue smoke, likely oil and/or compression rings installed incorrectly. Just thought of another thing...was the engine "broke in" to seat the rings? Did you install new liners or rehone the old ones?
  4. The oil can still look "clean" and be contaminated with metals and or fuel. Good idea to have the oil analyzed.
  5. Tom, Nice winter scenery. Thanks for all your road trip pics.
  6. If it was me I would paint the sheet metal and then install the glass and seals. As was mentioned, that is how it is done at the factory. I hate to see "poorly" masked rubber with overspray. If you are going to take the time to do it, do it right. Just sayin'.
  7. I will take the two (2) cream puffs.
  8. Blue Ox Exhaust Brake? www.brakesystemsinc.com
  9. Dr. Don at the Mack Museum thinks the picture was taken around 1978. He also thinks the trucks are the "first" Valueliners built at Macungie. And he confirmed the picture was taken in front of the WHQ. On a side note...I was thinking "what happens when the old Mack guys are gone?". Reminds me of a George Jones song "Who's Going to Fill Their Shoes."
  10. Happy Birthday to FWD's dad. Hope it was a good one...and many more. Someday we need to have a loooonnng talk about your son.
  11. What Jim said ^^^^^^^
  12. Hey Mark, Amazing what money can do for looks. Thanks Tim! Oh Barry....I need more LIKES!
  13. I am outta LIKES but I like all the above! Tim - I don't care what her name is but she is hot. Did all the Mack Fax have centerfolds? I have a few but never saw one with a centerfold....and I am sure I would notice that.
  14. Tim, Where can I get a copy of that Mack Fax with MH on front cover....and centerfold too? Later......off to fleabay.....
  15. Mike, Interesting article. Thanks for posting. I wonder if Rifleman knows anything about the MH 4x4? Ron, I think you and Tommy need to talk.
  16. Ron, It took me awhile to see the truck too. It is one of those trick pictures that a person can see several images depending on how you look at it. Hmmm, I think she is wearing hose....mmmm (but I digress).
  17. David, And how is it tied down?
  18. Mark, As soon as the temperature gets warmer (if it ever does) I am going to take a closer look at the drop area. I was originally thinking of attaching an E-track or L-track in that area the width of the trailer. That would allow "parallel" tie down in the front. I may or may not use the drop as a "front stop". As for the rear, I thought about attaching an E-track or L-track to the floor across the rear of the trailer. But that would be something I would need to "drive" over when loading/unloading and also collect dirt. BTW, I am considering the purchase of Discount Ramps EZ-RIZER 12' ramps (MF2-14414-EZ-UTV). Oh the curse of being an engineer and a cheap one too.
  19. I am outta likes but I LIKE both! Is she Sandy Powell?
  20. Leslie, Yeppers....I should have said...Yardo as the target.
  21. Yes, very interesting! Thanks for sharing.
  22. Interesting piece. Is the building still there in Philly?
  23. Next time you visit PA, let us know. We will have a party and a butt kickin' contest with Yardo as the center attraction. Hope to see you at Macungie in June. Take care, keep warm, and be safe.
  24. Not my favorite things but to each their own. Different strokes for different folks. Personally I prefer the stock factory look. A few "dress up" items are okay but big bumpers, wheel covers, bull horn stacks, big visors, and excess chrome are not my bag.
  25. And I repeat.....it WAS a FWD/ECD fling thing
