  1. Same thing happening with antique farm tractors.
  2. Hope you have an extra $4000 for the Diesel engine option. Likely other crap options will be needed to opt for the Diesel. Not worth the extra cost unless you plan to keep it forever. Too much "emissions crap" on a Diesel engine for my liking. Here in central PA, Diesel fuel is $4.359 and regular gasoline is $3.599. You do the calculations.

New date and location. This show is typically held in July at Lakemont Park, Altoona, PA New location: The Park at Morrison's Cove (Morrison's Cove Memorial Park) Martinsburg, PA Just off of Route 164 (Cove Mountain Road) in Martinsburg. Turn South on Park Street. Park Street is five (5) blocks east on Rt 164 after signal light). http://www.mcmp.org/ There are no amusement rides at this location/park. More details to follow.
  4. How about this one? It is a large picture of the MH used on the cover of the Owner's Manual. I offered the guy $10 plus shipping. His reply was "it is too difficult to package and take to the post office". Gee, slap it between two (2) pieces of cardboard and send it. Would cost less than $10. He stated he paid $25 for the picture. Good luck! http://www.ebay.com/itm/151226953568?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649
  5. The history is in the description. 1 of 4
  6. Saw this article on the CCJ website...... http://www.ccjdigital.com/flashback-photo-gallery-trucking-in-1974/ I forgot about the Fuller Girl.
  7. Take a look at this item on eBay.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/331120055291?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  8. Did you check eBay? There are a few listed but not sure if they have the attaching brackets for the LONG nose 430. Brackets might still be available thru Deere.
  9. Welcome to BMT
  10. Also known as "slobber". It can come from valve guides or past the rings. As for the valve guides, if your valve stems/guides are worn oil will run down the stems at idle. Are you using any oil between changes? BTW, delete your other post.
  11. Welcome to BMT. It sounds like a defective batch of parts. Do you see evidence of excessive temperature?
  12. Tom, Welcome to BMT. Where ya been? Sent you a PM.
  13. You are correct, the initial 15L MaxxForce engine offering used a CAT C15 block. It was a late intro so I do not think many CAT trucks were equipped with the MaxxForce15 engine. The majority have the 13L. IIRC, the MaxxForce15 did not meet certification and was discontinued. I have heard nothing recently that the MaxxForce15 is being offered with SCR. All I see in the trade mags is the Cummins ISX15. Will be interesting to see if a CAT truck, built by IH, uses a Cummins engine. I am going to MATS in March and will see what is on the market.
  14. Not CAT engines. They use International MaxxForce 13L engines. Time will tell if they offer the Cummins ISX15 engine.
  15. Did Barry issue a new guideline and didn't tell the rest of us?
  16. I always took 2 or 3 from the rack (tractors, cars, etc.). Hence my collection (and potential retirement income). From about 1966 to 1990 I would visit the new car dealers annually to get the latest literature (in recent years most of the brochures are online and hard copies are difficult to obtain). As long as I can remember I picked up John Deere literature everytime I visited. I didn't visit Mack or other HD truck dealers so my collection is light in the HD trucks area.
  17. Mike SD - an F in your backyard. Is this one in your "collection"? And a couple nice "points" about this lady!
  18. I think you are correct. The Mack red/white/blue trucks were advertised years before the US Bicentennial (1976).
  19. Yep! And the water tower painted in Bicentennial colors.
  20. BTW, here is the front cover....see anything interesting?
  21. I was rereading the book and noticed the back cover photo and caption. What is wrong with this picture? Mack Hagerstown 35yr Back Cover.pdf
  22. Several CAT trucks running around here in central PA...Smith Transport and some coal buckets.
  23. Airbrushed...the lights on the red SLII look correct.
