In another thread there is talk of a truck stop on I-81 that closed. I thought this would be a good topic of discussion and also see some pics of "back in the day". I remember three (3) trucks stops near my home in central PA. Two (2) were along Route 22. One was at the bottom of Cresson mountain just west of Duncansville and another was at the top of Cresson mountain next to Cresson Ridge Diesel (old Mack dealer). The third, Peggy's Diner, is along Route 220 between East Freedom and Claysburg. As a kid I was facinated by all the "rigs" sitting at these stops. I searched for pics but found nothing. Peggy's Diner is still open but not many trucks stop there, just locals. I don't usually go that direction but would like to stop in and see if they still have good food. Looking forward to hearing stories and seeing pics of "old truck stops".

I agree with Denny. What color are the trucks...blue? If it is R&J, I heard good reports about their maintenance. Their trucks always look clean.

As stated above, they are located under the passenger seat. According to the parts book, the blower housing needs to be removed and then the squirrel cages. The motors attach to a frame. Motor part number is 4379 RD556261 (need 2). There is a third motor located in the RH storage compartment under the sleeper. The motor PN is 4379 RD553100.

Not as much as I used to....most of the wimmin don't wear hose. I get tired of "how weather changed history" and all the other BS weather stories. Just give the frickin' weather! Oh, and wear short skirts, hose, and boots.

I looked in the Air and Brake System Service Manual. The only other valve in the system (other than Trailer Air Supply and Tractor Protection) is the trolley valve. Doing some additional reading..there is a Tractor Protection Manifold that contains two (2) dual check valves. I do not know where it is located nor do I see it in the parts book. I will keep looking.

Perhaps the trailer supply valve (red knob) or parking valve (yellow knob)?

I agree Hat, that is why I don't watch sports, movies, etc. I have more important things to do.....even if it is nothing! Maybe that is why I spend so much time on BMT.

Check your brake pedal and treadle valve to determine if they are sticking. Also, did this just start with cold weather? If so, you might have some moisture.

He is not the only BAD role model. There are many others including the bitch hore Miley and many sports players (and coaches). Seems there are no GOOD role models for our young people or us anymore. I've said it before...I am glad I am getting old (and have no kids - that I know of). The US and World are in a sad state of affairs.

I am not up on current pricing...but in my former life as a field test engineer I estimated $10K for an inframe that included reman heads. So your price does not sound out of line.

Just found my Mack dealer book...yippee!!! Now I can sleep at night. The book is dated 1990 and lists Ballard (442 Southwest Cutoff) as the dealer in Worchester, MA. However I just snagged a 1974/75 Dealer directory on eBay and it lists Worchester Mack Sales and Service (420 Southwest Cutoff). Both have the same phone number.
