  1. Nice! Several cabovers sitting there. Guys.....thanks for posting! Love to see the "good ole days" stuff. Wish I would have taken pics of stops I saw in the past.
  2. Did you buy one of their trucks?
  3. In another thread there is talk of a truck stop on I-81 that closed. I thought this would be a good topic of discussion and also see some pics of "back in the day". I remember three (3) trucks stops near my home in central PA. Two (2) were along Route 22. One was at the bottom of Cresson mountain just west of Duncansville and another was at the top of Cresson mountain next to Cresson Ridge Diesel (old Mack dealer). The third, Peggy's Diner, is along Route 220 between East Freedom and Claysburg. As a kid I was facinated by all the "rigs" sitting at these stops. I searched for pics but found nothing. Peggy's Diner is still open but not many trucks stop there, just locals. I don't usually go that direction but would like to stop in and see if they still have good food. Looking forward to hearing stories and seeing pics of "old truck stops".
  4. Out of likes but I like that model! Tom, A couple friends of mine are into street rods and attend the Louisville show.
  5. Mike, I hope your lips did not freeze because it is so cold.
  6. Don't worry about spell check....someone on here will correct your misspellings.
  7. I agree with Denny. What color are the trucks...blue? If it is R&J, I heard good reports about their maintenance. Their trucks always look clean.
  8. Link to an interesting car show. Enjoy! Biggest Car Show In The World .... Largest old car show in America. Only rules are all cars must have been built before 1964 and no Mustangs allowed. If you love old cars this is worth a watch. Over The Edge: Back to the Fifties
  9. As stated above, they are located under the passenger seat. According to the parts book, the blower housing needs to be removed and then the squirrel cages. The motors attach to a frame. Motor part number is 4379 RD556261 (need 2). There is a third motor located in the RH storage compartment under the sleeper. The motor PN is 4379 RD553100.
  10. Not as much as I used to....most of the wimmin don't wear hose. I get tired of "how weather changed history" and all the other BS weather stories. Just give the frickin' weather! Oh, and wear short skirts, hose, and boots.
  11. I looked in the Air and Brake System Service Manual. The only other valve in the system (other than Trailer Air Supply and Tractor Protection) is the trolley valve. Doing some additional reading..there is a Tractor Protection Manifold that contains two (2) dual check valves. I do not know where it is located nor do I see it in the parts book. I will keep looking.
  12. As I said before.....EXCELLENT!!
  13. Perhaps the trailer supply valve (red knob) or parking valve (yellow knob)?
  14. I agree Hat, that is why I don't watch sports, movies, etc. I have more important things to do.....even if it is nothing! Maybe that is why I spend so much time on BMT.
  15. Check your brake pedal and treadle valve to determine if they are sticking. Also, did this just start with cold weather? If so, you might have some moisture.
  16. He is not the only BAD role model. There are many others including the bitch hore Miley and many sports players (and coaches). Seems there are no GOOD role models for our young people or us anymore. I've said it before...I am glad I am getting old (and have no kids - that I know of). The US and World are in a sad state of affairs.
  17. Received this from a friend....FYI Saul Alinsky - Rules for Radicals Many of you have heard his name but know little of the man and what he believed. Saul David Alinsky, was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of the modern community organizing movement. He is most noted for his book Rules for Radicals and is a self proclaimed Communist. Died: June 12, 1972, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA Education: University of Chi thiscago Spouse: Irene Alinsky Books: Rules for Radicals, Reveille for Radicals Here's how to create a socialist state Saul Alinsky-style: ***There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the MOST important. 1) HEALTHCARE – Control healthcare and you control the people. 2) POVERTY – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live. 3) DEBT – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty. 4) GUN CONTROL – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state. 5) WELFARE – Take control of every aspect of their lives .(Food, Housing, and Income) 6) EDUCATION – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school. 7) RELIGION – Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools. 8) CLASS WARFARE – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor. All of this is well underway in the U.S. Do not make the bad judgment of thinking that Obama is screwing everything up because of "inexperience"... It's all planned and everything is going according to plan.
  18. Thanks for the numbers. Mine are 4MR numbers.
  19. Are the part numbers different for early versus late side dogs? If so what are the numbers?
  20. Carl, Good idea! However, let it be known...."I will NOT stand next to the kettle and ring the bell."
  21. It happens to me occassionally, usually when I have a long reply or an attachment. Hmmm, maybe Barry is trying to tell me something. I don't think the electrons are aligned properly.
  22. I am not up on current pricing...but in my former life as a field test engineer I estimated $10K for an inframe that included reman heads. So your price does not sound out of line.
  23. Just found my Mack dealer book...yippee!!! Now I can sleep at night. The book is dated 1990 and lists Ballard (442 Southwest Cutoff) as the dealer in Worchester, MA. However I just snagged a 1974/75 Dealer directory on eBay and it lists Worchester Mack Sales and Service (420 Southwest Cutoff). Both have the same phone number.
  24. I have no comment!
