  1. Pork and sauerkraut - good luck (at least in central PA). Mrs. Farmer does not like sauerkraut so more for me. I remember black eyed peas from when I was in college in Oklahoma.
  2. When I bought my first MH612 from Martin's back many years ago, Martin's had a NOS primered cab for an E6. Wanted $3500 but it has since sold. Don't know where it went (but I have a guess).
  3. Just received my Bulldog hard copy in the mail today (New Year's Eve). Congrats to Rifleman Steve for a nice article. Congrats also to mackdaddy Don for the honorable mention about the Valueliner. I also saw an article on Trucktoberfest and there arepics of 39 Baby Mack Ron's truck and Mike Yarnall's fire truck. Any that were missed? Nice showing in the Bulldog for BMT members!
  4. Getting ready for Wednesday's noon meal. I just put a pork tenderloin centercut roast in the slow cooker. Let it cook today then cut it into chunks. Later this evening add the sauerkraut and let it slow cook overnight then add some hot dogs in the morning. Lunch will be simple - dogs, pork, kraut, and mashed taters. Yum yum!
  5. UHaulit had a bunch of IH Diesels in their fleet for a LONG time. Occassionally you see one but I think most have been replaced with GMCs / Duramax.
  6. I posted a note about CHAT awhile ago. I am up for joining CHAT some evening (or day too). My "off hours=sleeping" are 9p-5a eastern time. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/31427-live-chat/?hl=chat
  7. you heard the joke about the snowblower? Why were all the snowmen lined up along the curb? They heard the snowblower was coming!
  8. Back in the day there were 49-state certified engines and CARB (Calif) certified engines. A CARB certified engine would have different performance (and possibly hardware) to achieve the reduced CARB emissions requirements.
  9. I am driving from OH to PA on Thursday morning. Praying for no or little snow. Once I am at the farm and stocked up with vittles, let it snow! Just hope the electricity does not go out.
  10. Mike....are the regs still the same?
  11. Dang guys! You are all falling apart. Too young to be laid up. My New Year's wish is for you all to get better and for all us BMT members to have a healthy 2014. Mike - BTW I did some research on the interweb...Gunilla is 69 and not too shabby for her age...Misty Rowe is 62 and looks good too.
  12. dang mike! sorry to hear. better take care of yourself. wishing you a speedy recovery so you can play with the "dogs". Ya need Nurse Goodbody to stopby?
  13. FYI this is Ohio's requirment..."The permit gives you the ability to drive a commercial vehicle only when accompanied by a CDL holder sitting in the passenger seat. The CDL holder must have the appropriate license for the type of commercial vehicle you are driving. Also, the CDL holder must be there for the purpose of giving you driving instruction."
  14. Mark, I like the SA White with drop trailer.
  15. You could have started another thread with this info and not mentioned it here. You "muddied up" Steve's time in the "spot light". Also, I think most of us are "smart" enough to read and reason. We are not a bunch of "dumb" truck drivers/enthusiasts. I will stop there.....
  16. I don't have no frickin' Facebook..... You might try changing the color theme or send a note to Barry.
  17. Looks like a rear discharge mixer likely at the Mack booth/display. At 0:10 is a blue Mack mixer with white drum with MACK.
  18. "Like This" button is in the lower right corner of the message (faint shade).
  19. Congratulations Steve! Nice article and recognition. Thanks for posting Ron!
  20. That is exactly why I finally bought a new Garmin. Now all the updates (maps and traffic) are free (that is until they figure some other way to get your money).
  21. Did she look like Jungle Pam? Oops.....
  22. Remember, a GPS is only good if you know where you are going. Denny - I can't recommend a good "trucker GPS". Buy a good Truck Road Alas and let RuthAnn be your navigator. I just purchased a new Garmin Nuvi 2597LMT from GPSCity to replace my old Garmin 750. The new one has lifetime maps and live traffic updates. The new one is more "friendly". At least the "bitch in the box Jan" does not say "recalculating" nor "make a U turn". If anyone was at Gerhart's late Saturday morning, you might remember the intersection just to the south was closed due to an accident. Well I headed north and the "bitch in the box" was NO help. Somehow I found my way even tho she kept saying "recalculating" and "make a U turn".
  23. Mike, What are you going to do with the MH cab? What level interior?
  24. I am sitting on my hands so I do not type..........
