  1. Thanks for the advice. Currently looking for someone close that is willing to come look and not cost a lot of money, as the maintenance on the truck is paid for by donations. I am just currently inspecting the ignition circuit wiring for any obvious damage, rot corrosion as it is original. Talking with some of the old FD members it should have 12v from battery cutoff to battery switch on dash to + terminal block at by the coils (not on the coil + terminal) which is where the voltage difference is with the coils not part of the system (isolated them out) The truck has always been a 12V system which is a plus. The chief says there is a wiring schematic in the files. There are some disconnected terminals behind the dash by the ignition switch. Drew a quick power only schematic where blue arrow is where I only have 10.6 V with the coil disconnected like I said. The other side I get 11.8V so I am looking to see if there is a physical damage to the wiring. I am not convinced that if we get someone to look at the dwell and timing, etc with not having good equal voltage time would be wasted. As always thanks for the help.
  2. It's been a while, and I like to update. We have been able to use the truck for a few events, new fuel pump installed (Delphi PN # DFP FE0539) and tank flushed. We are having some voltage drop issues to one coil (10.6v) and on to the distributor that it powers, and it appears that it is not firing the spark plugs. The other coil has good voltage (11.8) May run new wiring from switch to coil and see if that helps. We are going to clean the distributor and see if we can find someone that knows how to adjust/ service points. We are currently replacing the Hale water pump seals as its winter here in the great white north.
  3. Hey Jean it works great. Went thru a place called Harmon classic brakes out of Canton GA. Bought the booster from them 62-1633 is part #. I was able to modify the rear bracket to hold the new booster and used local brake parts store to get the adapters to get to the existing lines. As the unit will come in metric and only single out line where I needed 2. I’ll post some pics to the forum in the next couple of days for you
  4. UPDATE! We have we received a new modern brake booster, installed it and bled the system the old girl stops. We took the truck to a truck tire shop and had tires inspected. They recommended being a parade truck that nothing to do now. The tires show no age cracks or signs of any dry rot. Now that the truck is drivable, it won't park on the same spot in the tires now. We are going to add a fuel filter and electric fuel pump. any recommendations? FXFYMN for the forum gave a recommendation for a pump in the forum. 609Albert. I would like to get the photo/ info on changing the oil filter over. I was just pondering finding a power steering filter that would fit in the existing oil filter can. Any thoughts on that Forum?
  5. We are restoring our Mack Engine back to running condition. It has not been on the road since 2019. We have gotten the coils rebuilt and are onto the next issues please see below for our issues and we appreciate your input and help. The goal is to have it driving and pumping this year for the antique Fire Engine rally. 1. HydroVAC brake booster needs rebuild/ replacement. We believe that we have a Bendix Hydro vac 374229. By the measurements we can take. 2. new rims and tires. We have found tires that work but no one in our area will service the split rims that we have. So we are looking for help in finding rims that will be serviceable for the future. 3. Oil filter, it has the sock style filter. does anyone have a lead to buy new or a good cartridge that we can put into the oil filter housing? Thanks for the help Matt- CHFD OLD4 President please see the link below for our first start and run this year. 2.
