Hey Joey, I've been digging around looking for that book. I have them from 1990 to 1994 and 2001 to 2006. I can't find the spec books for 1995 thru 1999. Would you be able to show the pages with the 427 and 454 specs for the 1995 to 1997 engines?

The dome/map light i was looking for is the one Mack used in some of the 92-93 model MH. My MH is a 93, but it was missing when i got the truck. Apparently there had been a small leak at some point at the airhorn and they took the dome light and headliner out when they were working on it. The dome light never got replaced for some reason. So when I ran across this these threads with Farmer and BC and a couple others talking about this, I wanted to share what info I had. I just basically want this style because it's original to my year of MH cabover. Here's the one I'm talking about mowerman. Vanderhaggs has this one listed for sake, but it's busted up so I've been trying to find a good one out of a salvage truck.

Good point! I forgot that some of them may not have those marks for valve adjustment. I agree with you 100% having one with the marks would be preferred.

I recently bought a E7 400 Vmac1 at an auction for parts. They said it had a knock so I got it cheap. After getting it home I discovered that what was wrong with it was the six 13mm bolts that hold the balancer and pulley onto the crankshaft hub had come loose and let the balancer run loose for awhile and destroyed the hub, bolts, balancer and pulley. Not really a big deal because I have all those parts. After inspection of the engine everything looks great so I decided to fix the small problems and keep it as a good spare for my CH. However there was a couple things missing. The starter, no big deal because i have one....but the flywheel. That's the problem I have. I'm not sure what flywheel# was on it or what ones will work. My neighbor has a 530GB544AM that I can have. It does have the engine timing sensor reference marks on it. I'm curious if there's a balance issue depending on horsepower or what for it to be used. Engine serial is# 5503M331136418 if anyone has any ideas on that.

Are you sure it's Vmac1? I was under the understanding that by 95 everything was Vmac2...maybe you have a late 94 build? At any rate, I use these 2.

We located some shafts at a salvage yard that came from a set of 44k axles that had crd202/203 rears in them. I want to say the long side we needed was right at 45" length and the short side was 36" but I'll get the part numbers from them when I get back home. Goody's truck parts in Toledo has a ton of Mack axles, housings and diffs. They had what we needed -

Wow, I hadn't give much thought to that but I see what you're saying Joey. As far as the tools go, I've been reading my manual quite a bit and yeah you're right there's definitely some specific tools for overhauling these. -

Right! You know, it's interesting to get the 92/93 carriers out on the shop floor and set them next to the 202/203 to actually look at the differences between them. The 200 series are quite a bit more robust internally, but looking at both series still setting in the truck you'd never really know just how much more they really are. -

Update: I wanted to update this thread with some information while doing this swap in hopes it will help someone else out incase they are in a situation like me and needing to swap. The 202/203 will indeed fit the axle housing that the 92/93 came out of as you guys suggested, but talking to few others BEFORE i posted my original post, there seems to be some confusion about this. Some folks say they are not interchangeable.....they technically are interchangle with an exception. Axle shaft length. The only problem we encountered in this swap was the axle shafts are different lengths due to the 202/203 having the bull gear offset about an inch towards the long side of the axle housing due to the 202/203 case design. So the crd92/93 long side was to long, and short side was to short to fit the crd 202/203 properly. So in short, the 43 spline 92/93 long side axle shaft will be LONGER than the 43 spline 202/203 long side axle shaft by about an inch, and the 43 spline 92/93 short side axle shaft will be SHORTER than the 202/203 short side axle shaft by roughly the same. I hope this information might help anyone interested in this. -

Good to see a fellow MH guy. Jason, I just recently replaced my cab jack pump on my 93 MH. Don't mix hydraulic oils or use transmission fluid. It's recommended to use the military aerospace grade hydrulic oil MIL-H-5606A in that hydraulic system for the cab, especially if you are in cold winter area. This (or an equivalent)is technically the correct oil for that system. It's kinda pricy, but it's the recommended oil.
