  1. Thanks for that.I can see why they didnt sell that well.lets face it theyre not exactly stunning looking. My interest started with the picture my sister brought home from her holiday in Florida to her younger truck nut brother. It was only last year I discovered what type of truck it was.Still there has to be one left out there...maybe.... Paul
  2. Because of the picture I'd love to see a Rogue. The dealer must not have been able to sell it.First time Iv seen Make Offer on a new truck!!!!.The other Diamond Reo's you guys put up have really sparked my interest in them.I'll have to do more digging!! Paul
  3. Tough looking beast.Big slope on the hood.Deutz engines are very compact so one should sit under there easy...The Tow truck looks great too.Ward le France has the same look as the Rogue.Mark T If you do get that one it'd be a great project.I have the picture of the Rogue since '82 now im wondering if any are still around? Paul
  4. Thats a great looking truck. It looks very able to do a days work. The paint job and the big grill are class... Paul
  5. Any pictures around of the rogue and the others? I thought Diamond Reo were gone before the Rogue and the Royale came out.Its a company I know little about... Paul
  6. I knew some of you would know!!! Iv had that picture since '82 and only last year found out it was a Diamond reo.Now I know its a Rogue.Clearly didnt sell well if the company went bankrupt. So did any survive? Paul
  7. Hi guys, heres a picture taken by my sister in Florida in 1982.The truck was in a dealers yard around the Orlando area. What make of truck it is I didnt know but clearly its not selling well because of the "make offer" sign on the windscreen. It has a Cummins Diesel as seen in the other windscreen.I have just found out its a Diamond Rio.Any of you most knowledgeable guys shed any more light on it??? Paul
  8. Maybe I got a bad one but because of it I would never consider Volvo to be a "great" truck. The F7 was replaced with a Scania 82m,210hp 10 speed which was a good truck.I put 326,000 miles on it before the job ended.Next job was hauling shale rock from a pit to a Cement factory.Truck availability was the biggest factor as any interuption to the flow of material caused big problems.when I started we had 3 Hino 4 axle dump trucks 1 Iveco 1Volvo FL10 and 1 Scania 112H tractors pulling 3 axle dump trailers all replaced on a 5 year life span.the availability factor percentage was set at 92%.The actual factors were Volvo 78% Scania 84% Iveco 90% Hino 97%.By the time I finnished the fleet was all Hino. The Hino was/is the most under rated truck Iv ever driven. They just worked and worked and worked with little downtime. The F700 had one of the most comfortable cabs I worked in.While I like Scanias I dont understand why guys adore them so much. They are a good truck but there are much better trucks out there. If I were asked to pick a Europian truck now It would be the MAN TGA420.smooth powerful comfortable ultra reliable and great MPG.A friend got one after years in Scanias and said that he thought Scanias were the best untill he got the MAN.Now he says Scania drivers dont know what they are missing....... Paul
  9. I dont know much about the Mack Midliner tractor as they were not sold over here.I looked it up and it looks just like an F7 but no info on engine specs. The application we used the F7 for should have been well within its specs as we grossed about 40,000 lbs max.The truck was brand new 230hp 16 speed gearbox but wouldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding. It rode so bad the cab shook its self to bits and broke springs to beat the band. The dash came apart and the air seat also fell apart.Pure junk. After 2 years it looked 10 years old.It was main dealer maintained. It put me off Volvo for life.I feel ill just talking about it🥶. Paul
  10. F7 Volvo..simply the worst truck I ever had the misfortune to see never mind drive.it was gutless and rode like a bucking bronto.I hated that truck.I turned down a job with an all Volvo fleet because of that heap of scrap...and it was brand new. Paul
  11. It'd be coming to Ireland except for the fact it would be another 5/6 grand to get it here then another 4 ,500 for importation. But if I had the dollars. ...go for it Jack. Paul
  12. Our Cruiseliner wiil put on the brake lights if the ign is on and trailer brake is applied...even just a tiny bit applied.Yes I found this the hard way, spent hours trying to find out why brake lights wouldnt go off only to discover the trailer brake was applied just a touch........🥶 Paul

  20. I know Fire Trucks/ Emergency vehicles over here are exempt, having said that new ones all have emissions equipment but the older ones can still be used. Some of the older vehicles in the reserve fleet can and are used as required. Paul
  21. Has to be fake news...come on I just dont believe they would do that in such an emergency.......would they????? Paul
  22. Nice one JC Bit of culture to teach us how well off we are..... Paul
  23. Wow thats a complicated system. In the Europian union it doesnt matter what country you buy your fuel or pay your road tax in.Even coming in from a country outside the EU your vehicle has to be taxed and insured in the country of origin..thats it. Paul
