  1. Theyre about 22 dollars for a 20 pack in Ireland today.I dont smoke, never did and im sure happy I dont at that price..... Paul
  2. Do they still run the steam specials? I love the names of the American Railroads.I really enjoyed working the steam locos, hard dirty work but very enjoyable.Im stood down from it as im over 60 and the health and safety office wont allow over 60s to work them.More pussy foot rules,Men worked them into their 70s back in the day.... Paul
  3. Thats a fantastic shop...OMG id love something like that with all the gear.Id love to retire and just restore stuff....Might as well dream here as in bed... Paul
  4. Is that for one trip into NYC? If it is holy cow.We think 4 dollars into Dublin is a rip off... Paul
  5. Iv had no luck in finding tires yet Geoff. It seems 24in tube type tires are just not available here in Ireland.Iv made contact with a group who restored a 1933 Dennis fire truck which has 1200/24 tires. They got new tires and tubes for it in Northern Ireland but the company who supplied the tires went out of business. It seems I might have to change to 10 stud hub pilot wheels but thats going to be very expensive. Many thanks for your advice and interest in our problem.. Paul
  6. Dont know what that is.Its not on our Cruiseliner.Id be very interested to know what it is and what its for... Paul
  7. A guy who lived just 7 miles from me had one of these trucks. It was a 2 axle and I saw it many times over the years.I dint know where it is now as the guy passed away and his collection was sold off.He told me it was a very simple truck to drive but with just forward and reverse but it would go at the same speed either way....I also drove steam locomotives as I was a volunteer driver with the Railway Preservation Movement here. A Great experience....... Paul
  8. I like it.Do you know if it still survives? What was it like to work with everyday?Heres a picture of our truck in its first year on the road. Paint kinda like yours.(keeping the paint thing going🤣).... Paul
  9. Theres always one....on the other hand I think any day I dont learn something is a bad day.....By the way Id kill for a shop like yours. It fantastic.... Paul
  10. Id say your right Paul.If you look at our Cruiseliner you'll see headlights not spot lights mounted in the bumper.this is to comply with Euro regulations on headlight height. The original headlights are too high for full beam so two full beam only lights were placed in the bumper...... Paul
  11. Spot on... Paul
  12. Bob,you hid that picture from me...You said you had a Cruiseliner, was it yours or did you drive it for someone? Cool paint job kinda like ours when it was new... Paul
  13. Kellys Heros.....remember??? Paul

  18. Love those International cabovers.Really nice line up of trucks. That Marmon is a rare beast. There is one Marmon cabover in Ireland...but Iv yet to see it in the flesh... Paul
  19. Iv seen a fishing trawler with 2 8V71s one of which was set to run "backwards".It was direct drive(no gearbox) to the propellers so the reason the engines were set up this way was for counter rotation of the propellers. It was an interesting set up to say the least... Paul
  20. The secret lives of batterys...who knew when I posted the question of what batterys our Cruiseliner came with it would lead to such an interesting debate.Very interesting indeed. Thanks guys... Paul
  21. Our Cruiseliner is 12V Neg ground.Nathans truck is from the same batch and is also 12V..Maybe you guys would know but Iv been told when new they were supplied with 4 6V batterys.would that be right? Over this side of the world the last vehicle I can think of that had a 6V battery was a VW Beatle and some motorbikes... Paul
