  1. That is my hope....Have heard that in original form 60 may have been tops. The 3.91's will certainly lower the revs down.
  2. On the plus side, they just dropped my truck off at my house. Wife wondered where that came from? 🤣
  3. Lucky for me, I do know how to weld and fabricate. My Dad was a pipefitter, so learned a lot at a young age.
  4. I know you had pictures at one time of what you cut from the cab, but they no longer show up. Do you by chance still have those pics?
  5. Being I have the frame from the CH, I think I can add that to the original to extend it a bit. That way I could keep the rear suspension on its original frame, and get a good section to extend it. Up until I was thinking of the sleeper, I originally thought of going with a 156” wheelbase. Now perhaps I would go closer to 180” to add a 36” sleeper?
  6. Alright, crazy thought, but been thinking about putting a sleeper on the B….do you feel it would look out of place on a single rear truck? We will most likely always have a dog that rides with us (wife and I), and the current one is darn tall, and could use the bunk as a bed. Thoughts?
  7. Thanks! I don't know why I didn't think of that!
  8. If I wanted to run air ride in the front of this when it is all together, anyone give me hints on how to do it?
  9. Once it shows up here, then we will know for sure what engine is in it. The fella I bought it from has never even tried to turn it over.
  10. Yea, not sure why there is a limit on the likes. Could anyone tell me if my high rear end will work with the original setup?
  11. Thought folks would like to know, that the frame rails on the CH are 34”apart. My B is suppose to show up next week I think is 33.5, so they may work ok.
  12. Awesome! Can’t like anything more today, but will tomorrow.
  13. I know they are apples and oranges in comparison, but to a small extent, I am guessing they act slightly similar…of course these are 50+ years apart, and I don’t have any experience with the older diesels except in tractors, which is again a different animal.
  14. Geoff, you are correct, there is no title for the B, and no title for the CH chassis. MN has a very small loop hole that will hopefully allow me to get a title for the B. I know it worked for a couple fellas in the past on these old cars/trucks. I totally agree with you about the right foot! I watch the pyro gauge on my Dodge, and know when to get out of it.
  15. Does it do any good to up the power a little on this old Thermodyne engine of mine? No turbo on it, so more fuel would equate to higher temps if I went to far. Still not certain if that setup will work with my newer style rear end.
  16. Found it...I'll take a look at it. Appreciate the help!
  17. If nothing else, copy the link and just paste on here. I will figure it out from there.
  18. I am in no position to say anything is stupid when it comes to these...don't know enough about them. Always appreciate to see how someone else does it.
  19. I kind of figured that the axle is wider, but haven't measured it yet to see how much. I would like to keep the power steering, but understand that it may need to be modified from the CH a bit to work with the B. Also want to keep the BUDD style hubs. I certainly will take that idea into consideration, but I do question if the CH frame is a little longer. Some time with a tape measure is in my future. Some warmer weather wouldn't hurt either, as these are both outside at the moment.
  20. Thank you all for the help and suggestions. Funny enough, last night I was contemplating taking the front axle off the CH, and swapping it to the B chassis, and then cutting the CH frame, and put the air ride and a little more on the B as well. I do know this will probably be a better choice in the long run. Could I use the current engine/transmission setup with that high a geared rear end? Tell me more about adding exhaust brakes to the end673, I would certainly be interested in knowing more.
  21. One of the reasons I was planning on putting a different engine in is so I could use one of these switches. 😁
