Thought I would update, the mount was not the problem it turns out it was the synchro and mainly the clutch pack was burned. I went ahead and had them rebuild the back half of the transmission, changed both mounts, put a new clutch and clutch pin, rear main seal and now she's running great 👍🏽 🤠 I had more pics but they won't upload Thanks everyone for all your help, I really appreciate it 🙏🏻

I dropped it off this morning at the shop to get the mount fixed 🤞🏻 that it's my problem

Sorry I'm still not sure what part the inner boot is. You mean the rubber that sits on the cab floor or the one lower down right atop the transmission? 20241021_145546.heic 20241021_145557.heic

Plug on the left is drain, right is side fill plug. I found a couple pieces little bigger than a grain of sand the rest is fine material

The other pics won't upload for some reason

Yea I was hoping to avoid taking it to mack because I already know how expensive that's going to be. The truck was in a head on collision about 2-3 years ago. Driver said the other person ran the light, but my insurance ended up paying for the other car and police report said he ran it 🤷🏽♂️ I'll post some pictures, it hit on the passenger side front headlight area and was enough to bend the frame slightly. I'm thinking this might have been when the mount cracked. At that time I decided never to let another driver touch my truck because they always find some way to damage something 🙄 I'm going to drain the transmission oil today. I removed the side covers of the rear ends and didn't see anything that looked bad, but I'm not a differential specialist or anything. I'll drain those rears either today or tomorrow. Thanks for all the help guys 🙏🏻

Something i just noticed, broken mount on the drivers side. Think this could affect it? It only clicks and jumps a little bit when I let off the accelerator in high gears. I can drive it all day without it doing anything if I keep even a tiny bit of pressure on the accelerator...
-
Wow that's alot of svc manuals. I was thinking of trying to get ahold of some for my truck. I'm still debating if I should remove the transmission myself or take it in and have it done. I've never done a job this big and it's kind of daunting 😵💫 Also, do you think the range selection valve, or slave valve, could cause something like this? Maybe a leaky o ring or something?
-
Thanks Paul. Question, if I remove the top rear top cover would I be able to see if there's a problem with the range shift synchro? I just want to try and verify before I pull it. I checked the rear ends and they're fine
-
You're right and I'm hoping it's a rear end issue. I'm going to pull the side covers in the next few days. I did notice they are leaking. Also I am able to rotate the drive shaft a little bit, maybe about 1" play side to side by hand with the truck in neutral, is this normal?
-
My truck is a 2000 model ch613 with a T2090 transmission. Do you know anything about those? The cover has never been off but I'll be removing slave valve and top cover pretty soon after I check the rear ends

I'm good with tools and have done my fair share of mechanic work but I have never done any transmissions. I don't have the specialty tools either. I'm pretty sure I could do it if I had the tools and procedure instructions. Is it overly complicated or just tedious?

It seems to be connected to the range shift or something to do with that internally. The clicking noise sounds just like the range shift thump from low to high. But like half a thump, if that makes any sense. It only does it when I let off the accelerator and it's worse in the 1st high gear, which is 4th. But it does it in every high gear just not as bad the higher the gear. I did drive with the power divider locked and it still does it...

So I didn't have time to pull the side cover today but I will get to it hopefully tomorrow. I did notice that the rear rear is leaking from that cover. I'm really hoping it is something in the rear ends, better than the transmission! But to me it really sounds/feels like it's coming from the transmission. Or the range selector. It's a clicking and I can feel it in the shifter, like a little bump. Also, when I go over bumps in the road the gears feel loose like they are shifting around a bit.
-
Yes I'm pretty sure they are mack rear ends. It is a gold dog Mack so I'm guessing it's all mack even the rears? I'm going to tear into it the next couple of days remove the slave valve and top cover. I've never done this before so any advice you can give me would be much appreciated 🙏🏻

It does it in 4th, 5th and 6th gears. No issues in low gears, only in the highs. I bought a new range shifter slave valve hoping that's what it was but I don't think so
-
It shifts fine from low to high range, and through all the gears for that matter, but if I let off the accelerator in high range it begins to click and seems like it wants to come out of gear. It does it about every 2-3 seconds and it's getting worse where it will do it very quickly once in a while and I'll have push the accelerator to make it stop. I have to drive with my foot on it very lightly when going downhill, I can't let off completely and let the engine slow the truck down...

I know it's a mack transmission but not sure of the model. I think it's either 4 or 5th gear that's the 1st high range, not sure which one. But it's clicking in the 1st 3 high range gears now. It only does it when I let off the accelerator and the engine/transmission is holding the truck back. Feels like it wants to come out of gear or something. Where would I find the model # of the transmission?

I have a 2000 ch613 that recently started clicking in the high range gears. It's a 10 speed and it mostly does it in gear 4, which is the 1st high range gear. And it only does it when I let off the accelerator and the engine is slowing the truck down. It clicks and feels like it's coming out of gear. Not sure what it might be please help!!
