  1. Looks like a complete truck, sure hope you get to resurrect it at some point down the line. That's too bad the help didn't want to take the opportunity to learn the quad box, it sure is on my "bucket list" just to say I did it
  2. That poor relief driver would be "first on the scene" . . . . . . I get pretty spooked just looking at that top photo, looks like the poor guy is climbing into a coffin (one wrong move from his partner it could very well be his own!) Glad to see that idea never caught on!
  3. That tulsa winch headache rack and roller mounted crosswise on the back of the frame look like they have oil field written all over them, my guess is they took an old oil field truck and turned it into a gin pole wrecker. Pretty clever. Looks pretty complete though, sure would make a great conversation piece when restored!
  4. That one is beautiful, they always pass by too fast for a good photo op it seems. Glad to see you managed to scoop that one!
  5. Nahh, guvment says that's not "environmentally friendly" so we'll just let all the rainwater runoff leach through that contaminated ground and into the water table instead . . . . Great plan
  6. Really is a crying shame. Is the land owned by the city or is it privately held? And how much is there? Hard to believe that it has escaped development for almost 30 years. One of the pics showed a stop light and street signs surrounded by weeds and such, was there city streets running through the airport or did they only go around the perimeter? Sorry for so many questions but abandoned places like this fascinate me, just never expect to see them anywhere outside the deserts and plains of the great west, certainly not in Queens NY!
  7. Looks to be pretty complete but I'm guessing it needs lots of love, or as was said in a previous post a few weeks ago, some "romancing" At least you were there early enough in the seller's stages of "getting it running" to have prevented a catastrophe, just imagine if the batteries were good and the old 10 year oil was still in it, how many cans of ether he might have sprayed through the intake before you walked up to stop him (been there, seen it) Congratulations on the save, at least it will be loved once more!
  8. gosh that looks just like the one "Snow Man" drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" right down to the colors
  9. hard to see when it's on it's side. . . . sometimes that's all the indication you need
  10. WOW that sure is one unstable, lopsided looking R model!!!
  11. All I can say is W O W it took a few minutes for it to come into focus but once it did I laughed so hard it was worth the wait!
  12. Also notice that the baby on the far right is occupied with something other than the camera . . . . if that were me I'm sure I'd be thinking the same way!
  13. If that's his Mom she's an official M.I.L.F. . . . . . Vinny, I'll leave it to your imagination to figure out what those letters mean
  14. An old friend of mine commented to me once while I was showing him my truck at work, "you can always spot a one-driver truck when you open that door!" Truer words were never spoken in the case of this yellow truck, it is absolutely gorgeous! A steal at that price if I might say so!
  15. They call that "truth in advertising" I think
  16. Wow what a difference then and now, these days bystanders wouldn't be allowed within 200' of the accident and here they are milling around and some even look like they're posing for photos next to the Mack (can't blame 'em for that now, can we???? ) p.s. don't let the EPA see that photo they'll try and track down the owner of the Mack and fine him for pollution from the oil spilled
  17. Glad to see some members aren't trying to shave weight on their working vehicles to appease the "going green" gong banging crowd! Welcome to you and your HEAVY trucks!
  18. Those headlight panels do set it apart, very good thought! Sharp truck, you should be proud!
  19. Great looking pinstripe work, can I ask who did it?
  20. Lookin good, I'll give it a thumbs up!
  21. The 93 DM I drive with same trans does the exact same thing. I've found that working the hi-low switch rapidly up and down a few times usually gets it there. Only takes a couple extra seconds. I've been told "they all do it". I would stay clear of that PTO switch, never know what they're gonna be hooked up to.
  22. I work half a mile down the road from them, the trucks are all still there and it appears the business' doors are still open. My boss' dad is the local townie gossip king and I'm sure if there was something to say he would have spilled those beans all over town, so who knows. I'll definately poke my nose around somewhat on Monday morning though!
  23. What's the difference between the two cabs?
  24. Sounds like adolescence is turning you slowly into the 'rmodelnut' (sorry I couldn't resist)
