  7. "an unnecessary burden on businesses"...................................all the rules and regulations they dream up these days are driving businesses crazy. their intentions may be good, but all the r&r you have to follow anymore is enough to drive any sane business man crazy. i dont want to get old, but im glad im not a kid coming into this regulated society. and the fines that go with these rules. from traffic rules.......to osha standards..........who dreams up this shit? all the controlling factors in our lives have me dreaming of the "old " days when before all this bs. forms, and paperwork, and reports, and rules, and regulations, and the list goes on and on................... our government demands-------------YOU MUST CONFORM. kinda takes the fun out of life. you can no longer do what you want to do you have to do what THEY want you to do. right down to your personal life.
  8. when i pulled the pump off my B, i couldnt locate a cover so i made my own from some plate steel.
  9. "species in which many males mate with one female........." so rats are sluts just like some humans. its a good thing i didnt have the biggest goolies in school or i would have been a father earlier in life...............

  13. i went to napa for my chunk of pipe but i had good results. they even had various lenght pieces from accommadating previous customers. i bought a straight chunk of pipe and then had to bend the angle. i have a friend who owns an electrical business and he used his pipe bender to bend it for me.i couldnt find a muffler shop in the area that could handle the 4" diameter. what was interesting though was his stock of electrical conduit looked identical to the chunk of pipe i bought at napa. i dont know if it is the same steel...... but might be another outlet to pursue. aj
  14. all of my bases and chrome trims were junk, but i did save the lenses if of any use.aj
  15. i have run into the same problem before posting pics in the garage. i am not that computer smart, but i would always right click and edit picture, then shrink it in size until it would be accepted. aj

  19. mike, i did clean the tank and all the original copper lines were open and in good shape. the governor is serviced and working to specs and is clean-as-new inside. it was kind of unbelievable how spotless it was inside. i did find a place today to get the answer i was searching for. after some tests we found the unloader valve wasnt working. i did not tear down the compressor during resto. it was a 'if it aint broke-dont fix it deal'.it was in great working order when we dismantled everything to paint. evidently i took too long to get it back together and it decided to stick. it worked fine when i drove it to the shop to pull the engine. what i needed to find out was if i had to remove the compressor to fix the sticking valve. we have ordered an unloader service kit that can be installed while on the truck to repair it. it can be accessed thru the side of the unit after removing the mounting plate for the air line. i had removed all of the air lines and the only place i found any collection of anything was the sediment in the tank. i believe from not draining it frequently enough. system is clean and everything else is working as of now. aj
  20. yeah, but it doesnt release until 150#. i drained alot of gunk from tank also. thanks. aj
  21. i wouldnt want the job of the top guy moving all the high tension wires up and over the roof. aj
  22. sometimes on this site it is better just to read and learn.
  23. the air compressor on my B61 keeps building pressure past 120 lbs. i took the governor off this morning and dismantled and inspected and tested. all seems good with governer. it was very clean inside. it is functioning as it is supposed to. is there anything i can do with compressor still on the truck? the truck hasnt been started until recently after a three year period while i restored the vehicle. can you get to the unloader without removing the compressor? what a bummer..........i just put my hood and fenders on. is there a way to unstick whatever is sticking? and where is a good place to send it for repair if i have to pull it? thanks. aj
  24. look on ebay at this latch. item #310307947427. aj
