  1. i may have a latch for you. i will be in the barn tomorrow and will try to remember to look. i bought an extra glove box door with a latch in it off of ebay when i was collecting parts for mine. i then found a latch off of ebay that was new. a person on there had several for sale at one time. he kept relisting for a while. the one i bought was lockable with a key. so.... i still have a glove box door and non-lockable latch i think. are you looking for the glove box door , or the inner cardboard liner? i bought the inner liner from watts for my B. i will try to look on ebay to see if the latches are still listed. mike was trying to rebuild the catch and the area around it i believe. aj
  2. hey, i got it. thanks.
  3. i havent been to church for a long time---------and then i went this morning......must be the easter season or something.aj
  4. hey barry, i got really used to the forums page as my opening page when i log on. then suddenly i have the portal page up every time i log on. how do i get my forums page back as my opening page again? thanks----aj
  5. the weight on my title says my B61T weighs 8700#. i havent weighed it for years though to verify that.
  6. its weird operating a loader with the pivot point behind you. you have to keep an eye on where the rearend is going when you back up or all of a sudden you can be cranked off one way without realizing it at first. we had a 5 yard IH hough.

  8. thanks for the aqdvice. i could probably have it done by now if i would have posted my installation sequence. but i suppose that learning how to put one together is half the fun the first time around. i appreciate everyone watching out for me. aj
  9. very impressive indeed. i have been in this long thought process about lettering the doors on my b model when i get closer to the end. it was hard for me to think about lettering on top of a beautiful paint job. but your truck looks awesome with the company logo running across it. very reassuring that it could look that impressive. nice job. aj
  10. i have the glass installed in the cab now. i will be taking a short break from working on the truck until after the new year, i take my vacation around this time of the year. but i am on trak to have the truck on the road by spring. i have everything prepped to put the fenders on next. hood and doors should follow right up.
  11. i went for keeping it all original. its basically the only way i could restore it with my limited knowledge. that is to tear it down, refurbish, and put it back together the same way i found it. blakeslee is in the extreme northwest corner of ohio. 4 miles from indiana, and 11 miles from michigan. i have a lot of pics, as that is the only way i stood a chance of getting it back together. i know i had to refer back to my laptop many times. and i still end up redoin things twice for forgetting a step and having to take stuff back apart.
  12. been workin on assembly. things are goin pretty well. everything is painted and ready. just need time now.
  13. Your opinion is more biased now though!
  14. my 1961 was bolted under cab on the bottom lip.
  15. i made my own. i got a piece of exhaust pipe, welded the flange on from my old pipe, and i had just enough left of my old pipe to determine the angle. i have a friend that is an electrician, and we used his conduit bending machine to bend the pipe.
  16. hope your dog is ok. hypothetically, its a pretty hard hit to crack a windshield.
  17. the bezel on my amp gauge looked like yours. i bought a new amp gauge from watts that matches the step bezel of the originals.
  18. I just got my gauges back in. i wanted to keep my old gauges. i like the original look. mine looked like yours when i started. the amp gauge is new. rest are original. (and yes i know the hi beam indicator is in the wrong hole.) unless you are going to rechrome, you can shine up a gauge and see what you think of it.
  19. "a unique way to kill any spare time you might have" i am three-fourths of the way restoring my b-61, and i have found it to be very addictive. its been the most relaxing project i ever had because i enjoy working on it so much.
  20. i wanted to keep my dash as original as i could so i cleaned all the rust off mine with steel wool and a dremel tool and then taped them up and cleared them to keep them from rusting again. i was happy with the outcome. it depends what look you want out of your dash. i liked the old gauges wihtout the "sw" label on them.
  21. next to the fuel gauge is a red lensed light in the dash. my first thought was that was high beam. but havnt fully checked all this out yet.
  22. I am sorting out wiring now. there is a light under my turn signal switch. maybe it was added on. i will investigate more this week. i think its in the air circuit. still tracing a few wires down. thanks.
  23. what do you haul that the hinge point for the bed is so far forward of the rear of the box?
  24. I am rewiring my 1961 B-61. was there a low air buzzer on this truck originally? or just a light? Is the buzzer(if there is one) on the outside of the firewall? or is that just a relay of some type?
