  1. I know the feeling, pretty much the whole front clip on mine is rotted from sitting. They notched a huge hole in the right hand headlight panel for hydraulic plumbing and a smaller one in the left for the pump/ bumper bracket.
  2. Well looks l will be visiting Underdog, one step closer to getting the old girl back on the road!
  3. I am looking for a set of (8) 11r22.5 drive tires for the B model. if possible Dayton rims as well. Located 10 miles south of Plattsburgh, wouldn't mind a day trip.
  4. Wow that is looking good, can't wait to see the finished product!
  5. In one of our classroom sessions they showed a car that was hit with a wing doing 30 and the car was demolished
  6. Clinton county DOT has a handfull of double wing trucks otherwise all the single wings are on the right. They are starting the towplow setup, alot of truck to handle IMO. I will probably start double wing training next winter.
  7. Here in N.Y. I had 2 options. Historical plates or commercial. I had a commercial policy and plates but put "not for hire" in the doors. Only $300 for insurance I believe that was through Erie nobody wanted to put a policy on it because of the wrecker. A good insurance agent can steer you in the right direction for what you need.
  8. A few goodies I found while surfing the list. My personal favorite is the white triaxle https://albany.craigslist.org/cto/5984135853.html https://albany.craigslist.org/hvo/5993653010.html https://westernmass.craigslist.org/cto/5998219507.html https://westernmass.craigslist.org/cto/5998220204.html https://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/bfs/5960449406.html https://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/hvo/6001142900.html https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/hvo/5967300329.html https://maine.craigslist.org/hvo/5929576497.html https://nh.craigslist.org/hvo/5953475117.html https://boston.craigslist.org/sob/cto/5972879006.html
  9. At the nysdot all the newer macks have got the mp7 and they rarely have downtime i drove a 2013 mack garbage truck with minimum issues and that thing got BEAT. Only real issue i had with her was the def or fuel was geling
  10. When was the last time you had her on the road?
  11. Well got everything torqued down injectors are in and most of the fuel lines are on. Little more tinkering and she should be ready for a test fire
  12. Copy that thank you!
  13. So I am torquing the heads down everything is going smooth so far. After a few searches I couldn't find anything for a torque spec on the rocker assembly. Anybody know what it should be? Also is there any little details to look out For maybe seals or tidbits of advice
  14. If you ever end up in Plattsburgh try a cruise by the projects on south Peru Street. That road is cut up and patched so many times it will shake you out of the cab. I work for the NYSDOT bridge department. The equipment we have is minimal towards getting any task done. Some of the interstate bridges in this area can be rough on trucks because the approach slabs sunk years after they were built one really shitty one is southbound by Keeseville.
  15. This whole concept reminds me of "Demolition Man" self driving cars, Taco Bell is every restaurant... cryogenic prisons and nobody gets their feelings hurt.
  16. I guess the foot length of 4130 was a tad overkill then! I could have a few more cut if anybody needs them.
  17. He's been sitting at a local junkyard for ages. B42s 8.15 rears 20 speed. Thought about buying it for some time cab is in good shape
  18. Would those work in a 673? Been thinking about getting rid of the 24v system and electric start.
  19. My new bushing washers are getting cut tomorrow I am thinking 3 inches should be long enough with a quarter inch on top for a washer
  20. for future reference when I called Watts I was told if it isn't on the website (for B model) they don't have it. Jobbers looked but I assume they didn't find anything for dowels or special washers.
  21. 10-4 thank you
  22. I am having washer/bushings made for the corner studs anybody have a suggestion on type of metal to use?
  23. it's the small details that make you feel the dumbest. The other head does not need the dowels because there are holes drilled in the head for the dowels in the deck. My good buddy is going to fabricate some reducing washers for me problem solved!
  24. "locating dowel" excellent! reward, a snap of my plow truck for this season.
  25. Well looks like gettingbthembout of the 711 without ruining them is out if the question. Is there a proper name for them?
