  1. The days when "Rubber Duck Mack" fan website was full of power I sawed a picture from there. It was adressed to modelbuilders who were requesting technical details. You can see the measurments of the sleeper and the shape of the walk-through cut out. When I had my R-model bunk redone I referenced to this drowing and found out it wery useful. The upper part I kept original (which just reflected the rear window opening) and the lower design was made as there. Worked out fine for me.
  2. Looks like the progress is doing well!
  3. That's one impressive lifting machine! Thank you for sharing.
  4. Swishy mate, Thanks for posting that and other stuff explaining Mack design of the Brown land. Really difficult to figure out things you can't see just on trucks' pictures. No possibility to open a hood/tilt a cab. I would really like to go myself put my hands on. But you're nasty far ways off. Have such a plan on my shedule, just Dollar is short in my wallet now. Those frame rails. R's (US made R) have their rails spread in front and declined in height. From the cab area and down to the ass end they go straight and have a constant section (reil heigth). US F's have about similar (but different) front end but are made fatter in the middle area, between the cab and the rears, for more strength. If you have some chassis pics in your Down Under Mack library I'd be too likely to drool over a bit more on your classic truck iron. Cheers, Vlad
  5. I doubt on that DM axle possibility. Axle beam castings look generally the same along R's, RW's, MH's, DM's e t.c. But they might have different location of holes for U-bolts. Depending on the frame width and probably front spring width Mack drilled beams different. At least R-model axle has less of distance between the U-bolt holes (left to right) than RW/MH one. And sure R-model beam (and DM as follow) has 3-1/2 wide front springs so the holes on each side are spiced 3-1/2. RW/MH has 4 inches there and I suppose a CH do the same.
  6. Swishy, Am I not wrong an Aussie F-model was built using R-model frame rails? Or actually a whole R-model chassis with exceptions of the cab attachments and air filter bracket? And what does the script FR-700 (or FIR-700) on the dash mean?
  7. Looks like a good addition to the collection. Have fun with it!

Bob, sorry to hear. Rest in peace the old man.
  9. Merry Christmas BMT!
  10. Philippe, welcome on board! Normandy is a really beautiful area. Especially along the beaches on early days of June every 5 years It would be nice to see pictures of your new purchase. Was that F built in France or imported? Vlad
  11. That's what I originally said to the guys, to not put foam into the triangle. But they made that triangle a bit less than required (they didn't have the cab, the old panel only as a sample). And when I put the panel in place the seam which connected triangle to the main panel area appeared thick enough to not allow the door to close.
  12. Hat, This makes me think that some people might have troubles carrying loads. And at the same time have much more troubles of having too many of potential helpers on that matter. And as for me I might get a trouble choosing in which category I'd prefere to be myself.
  13. Neat road scenaries, and the mountain views too. Big Mack trucks pics are always welcome. And Santa assistents' too. Not nice news in Gladys this time. Seems you better start thinking on getting a fire proof house. I mean in addition to the fire-proof shed. The only thing that is not almost clear to me is that red one with Mercedes-Benz cab and the drum of unknown application. Do people use to call them as Freightshaker of some model?
  14. Interesting that the diamond quilt stuff you used on your doors is the same as I have on my sleeper interior panels. With the only exception mine is blue. Nothing of a surprize with that fact since my sleepers are Canadian built. I like the way your door panels look. Hope you will not get the issue with the cab skird as I did.
  15. When a door is installed properly the upper mirror bracket bolts passes the cab inside edge being a bit higher. You can see them from the inside of a cab if look into the gap right above the door top. I haven't refreshed the rubber seals on my cab so far but have the doors about 10 mm out along the rear edge relating to the cab side wall. Almost can not get them deeper regardless I would like to. Having them in that position the distance between the inner surface of the door and the cab corner reinforsment is less than 10 mm. I'd say something between 1/4 and 3/8 talking with SAE lexicone. When I got the door panel from the upholstery shop the first thing I did was just put it into the door opening and than a try to close the door. After an hour of tinkering and suffering the panel went back to the shop together with a additional piece of material to be done totaly new once again..
  16. Too sad to hear and also sad a big truck was involved again in the terrorist attack. There's plenty of Polish truck drivers all over the Europe, most of them do their hard everyday job. And Polish drivers count as one of the best in Europe. Berlin is relatively close to me. Had been multiple times to the city.
  17. You're right. They are R688ST's. I supposed it's possible to identify a model by tracking down the front part of Mack VIN. At least I have such practice with some other vehicle producents I used to deal with. Thank you for paying attention to my question.
  18. Hmm... Straight rails could be manufactured here locally. With only trouble of metric sheet thikness. I.e. you can order 6 mm or 8 mm, not real 1/4". Wonder are OEM R and RW rails still avalible? And how costy?
  19. Nice pick-up! And the crue of the foresters too. The new shed is great! And what is more important, it's fire-proof. Hope the mixer can suit it with no troubles.
  20. Anybody please give me explanations on this matter - are those rails fabricatet by PG Adams or others have all the shapes in the front area (like say R or RW Mack have)? Or are they just straight pieces of rail you need to weld in the middle of your truck to be connected to the original front end? Thanks.
  21. Cool piece of old iron! Some amount of them was supplied to us either.
  22. Congrats on the steal deal ! The truck looks nice and the idea with lights is neat indeed. Good luck on bringing Mack to better condition! BTW you can always relax for a bit during the work with a can of cold coke. Vlad
  23. Guys, what do you talk about? -28 F ??? Sounds coooold-d-d!
  24. Hmm... A neat entertainment it is as it seems to me. Personally I'm going to pass it due to the need of visit Facebook page and than wait 3 weeks of shipping. But it's not a great trouble to order something similar locally. I suppose T2090 would work well for me.
  25. The price is not really friendly but note how clean the interior is.
