  1. Try this: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/31351-stainless-steel-battery-boxes/?hl=battery+box http://www.wattstruckcenter.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=60_81&product_id=478
  2. I have no other options excepting to be the third on that.
  3. O-ho! A good amount of goddies you've catched up at the show griounds during those 45 minutes. I like the EH firetruck pick-up conversion. Done clean and looks nice. Sure hope the owner did that having no chances to restore it as a fire truck. Thank you for sharing with us, as always.
  4. Tim, Nice to see you showed out Ok and being not traced hard with Marmite stains. It seems to me though nobody yet payed attention to the fraze "There is one more MAIKSHILO in New Zealand". What you was talking about? Is that Max's last achievement??
  5. Hmmm.... When I was a kid I was told swordsmen used to pass each other by a shield side. So every body kept right side. Brocky, Those trucks are absolutely awesome! Thank you for sharing. I need some explanations though. That event at Alice Springs - was that a current truck show or the museum's collection? I doubt museum would keep so many beautiful vehicles outside.
  6. I agree on a military path. Tires have military pattern and Type 75's were used during WW2. There's description on that in Bart Vanderveen's book. And that picture was posted there either. Nice to see those brand new Mack trucks on the assembly line anyway.
  7. I suppose the picture is on the avatar.
  8. There was yellow Superliner for sale on here a while back, something about 3-5 month. It has what looked like Paccar bunk on. I checked out my folder of RW pics but haven't found it. Maybe anybody else keeps more info of it. As for me I'd prefere taboo
  9. Looks cool. I keep the idea in my brain to rework 24.5 front rims on my MH to bring them some extra offset. Maybe about 1 inch. The reason is just to improve the look. I have about the same doubts on road handling as you do. So would be glad to know your experience. MH has too short wheelbase as your F model either.
  10. Ohhh.... I supposed to see the Magnum...
  11. As they said. Glad to hear you've done the deal.
  12. There were at least 2 styles of diff housings on B's. Earlier ones had 10 bolts all around the flange to be fitted to the axle banjo. Actually 10 bolts (2 big and 8 small) and two studs wich you can't see from the top but two nuts at the bottom side. No matter though. Later ones have multiple bolts around the mounting flange and they fit the same as CRD92/93 of R-model and other newer style trucks. The difference in late B's and R's is the length of the interaxle diff (power divider) housing. B's had longer divider and R's are shorter. This fact means a R model gear set (of the CRD92/93 style wich are pretty common) has short drive pinion on a FR than B model has. So you can put B model style gear set or use a newer one together with complete short body power divider. Need to correct the prop shaft lenght as a follow. I myself am looking for a pair of gear sets of a long divider style with a ratio about 6-6.5 It doesn't look easy to find but you know my location isn't perfect for such the entertainment and I need no housings, gears only to ship them overseas for reasonable.
  13. R688ST with Canadian style air cleaner? What is the body setup? Looks like firetruck to me. Would be cool to see it saved.
  14. At least you can see some EQSW's in Mack EH etc. photo archive (green book). And one absolutely incredable looking EQU2D on page 118. Looks like there are 44 rears either. Another cool thing is white/blue/red Mack NM with Timken axles and the crane. The cab seems converted using the most parts off H63 or 67 day cab.
  15. I would try to figure out how deep the rust spots are and could be removed by hone keeping the piston/liner clearance limit. If the rust isn't hard you may just get it off with sandpaper. Currently I have Mack E6 engine wich was factory rebuilt with no miles but stayed outside for years. The crank is new excepting one main but all the liners need replace. Good luck with the project and welcome! From posted above you can see your truck worth to be babied. Vlad
  16. That temporary electric pump isn't a bad thing at all. My R model had its original supply pump ruined long while back and previous owner installed electric one of the type fuel injection cars have. Easier to say Bosch pump off some old Mercedes. He either had to remove the rest of the mech pump and put a hand made cover in place it was. Since that the truck runs with electric pump and I saw no issues with it. Additional bonus I don't need to worry about any air soakings in the lines wich aren't of a fine condition. When I get myself to restore my R or at least revise the engine I would probably like to make all the things stock. But I see no reason to go off that electric pump until that moment. It mounted stationary on the side of the fraim rail though. Good luck with the trip, hope you'll have more chances to get you with your truck. Seems like experience comes fast. I tell that as a man who was never dealing with big rigs just 4 years back and has about four thousands km driven to the moment. Sorry to hear about your job interruption.
  17. I worry you need to get about the same amount of air off the tyres as I should get water off Atlantic to drive that animal home.
  18. Hell, I've just almost forgot. That picture makes feeling. I noted it when watched your album. Oh, no, it couldn't be real! Your garage gate is toooo low to pass that Aussie thing to be kept inside!!!
  19. All that written above makes sence. I feel myself lucky I spend the most of a day on feet. Would be good to get about 10 kg off to look athletic. I haven't do it although don't get more and more kilo's making no efforts to keep my weight and form constant.
  20. Kscarbel, many thanks for sharing! It's nice seeing how you guys are having a cool time. Randy, I surprized that Aussie Valueliner and FWD went in about the same second.....
  21. I'd suppose they are the same for 673 turbo, 237, EM6-300 and E6-350. I mean the offered ones. Am I wrong? As for the brand you asked Mahle is a top quality product for European car market. Many Mercedes engines had pistons and rings made by Mahle.
  22. Being wondering wich one it is and hadding no time to watch the movie yet (I sure will!) I might make two statements: 1st - that's not Mack, 2nd - that's a firetruck.
  23. I'm also going to put my steps on that path. That head liner front part has cracks and some small pieces over the screws missed. So it will required not only form fixing but surface work. It's like a leather outside and easy filling/sanding would make it flat. Might be made applaying scratching but seems like alotta work without perfect turn out wich would worth the labour. Any experience?
