  1. Thank you for the kind words folks Thanks, I'll contact you. Mike, you're right on the count. The stuff cost me scrap+ price. My friend with Scania got about the same for the trip. Everything else such as foods, remove the cab, crane and unload was extra. Tom, what do you think is the main source of my English lexicone?
  2. Shit...
  3. Congrats on the purchase Mike, the tyres look impressive.
  4. Looks nice! I also going to do such the thing in my MH one day. Don't forget to post pics when ready. Vlad
  5. Guys, thank you for posting. Nice trucks to look at.
  6. Thank you Doug. Mike, you're always welcome. I'll let you know if I make a plan for any more crasy entertainment.
  7. Congratulations! Best of luck!
  8. She's awesome! Hope you had some fun during the work and will have much more in the future.
  9. Yes you are right. I had newer been so far to the North of the country. As of DMM it's difficult to make plans now having alot on the list - Lanova engine rebuilt, MH wheels and hubs under revision and building the sleeper for R. Everything in one time. I disliked I had to get cab removed, would more like to keep the truck assembled. Should put it back on but better should painted it or at least apply primer. I hope to fire up the engine to be shure it's ok. Probably will try it with no cab. The frame I found out after I saw it up close was stretched out and the center of the bogie is now at the end of the original rails. I think it will be good to cut it back and put the axles to their original position and get a short wheel base tracktor. Anyway I need to do something over the broken middle axle and actually have no ideas on. Those axles look too heavy, more than 44000, maybe 65000. I have neither stuff of the kind. Shuld think a bit on the matter.
  10. Paul, there was no snow and ice. It was summer and the best time to go to that area. By the word I didn't miss a chance and swam in the river. A little bit Yes, those roads weren't nice. That's sad although on the other hand that dirt road is just built (2-3 years) and must be paved in the nearest future. The reality is that there was NO road 2 years ago. Only in the winter when everything was frozen.
  11. What a nice collection of girls and peppers!
  12. The biggest things are impressive. I like Cletrac and too like the view from the wind screen with RW hood behind it
  13. I wish your wife 100% recovery ASAP and you to be able playing toys and chatting on here as long as you'd like
  14. After 2 more days we get home and the deal was done excepting unload. It was also a kind of adventure. A truck with a trailer can't drive into my land. It can but can't go back. So I used a parking lot in my town to unload but had to transport the stuff about half a mile to my property. This time I have it done with the roll-back. Uhhh...
  15. That's not all On the next day we started back. Ferry again with trouble to land regardless we kept much more planks with us. Covered all the sands and stayed overnight on the side of the road because of darkness.
  16. The guy who had DMM waited for me. He brang the crane and we started to load. He removed the cab before my visit because the truck couldn't get into the trailer due to its height. There was a bonus with Mack - one more off-set cab and three engines. After 2 hours of work we had all the crap in.
  17. Those 300 km of trial cost us 9 hours. In the evening we finally came... to the river. Because there was no bridge. More correct there's the bridge. But the rail road only. So we went in a sack until a nearest ferry. It arrived in the morning and the captain said "You have no chances to get on with your trailer" We answered "We need and will try" and had it done with the wooden planks we took off the sides of out trailer. After 20 minutes of sail we landed on the other coast where's the city - the point of destination. Being there it looked pretty common and it's difficult to imagine there's no normal way to the "main land". By the word it's not the end of the world or inhabit island. Just 2000 km to the North from Moscow and about 300 souther than Polar circle.
  18. Glad to report I finally got my new 6x6 beast home. There's nothing to boast of due to its overall condition although I would be too sorry to leave it dying in scrap. I had to wait a long while until a friend of mine said "I'm finally free from current job and ready for the adventure". The story turned out as an adventure indeed. We covered about 1700 km of different asphalt roads and came to the most "nice" part of the journey. Pavement was changed into gravel for about 100 km and than continued as just pressed sand. Those 60 km in the woods were most hard to get over. There were steep hills and we had many chances to get stuck having only one drive axle. Many times we saw rusty broken ropes just on the road and after 20 lost their count. Direction singns were also poor in number so we asked with CB every big truck we met along the way. Not much help of navy becase some parts of the road were made and redone recently and haven't been updated.
  19. What are the rear axles? Camelback, Neway, Hendrickson? What is the ratio? What hubs are there - spokes or budds? It would be perfect if you post some pics of the stuff or better the whole truck you're taking apart. Vlad
  20. Is that a West coaster with so long WB?
  21. It looks like you drove over a nice looking region this time. Pigs ear Rd is funny. I like that big Marmon truck. Thank you for one more weekly report.
