Hey Ken, This time you was right. Those are true. That's the parade probably to the day of finishing police school (academy??). Usual thing but they collected girls off guys in the lines. Cool pic, just that type of chicks used to have a lot of attention from the other sex along a service.

Mack N series trucks were specially designed army vehicles. There were mostly NR, NM and NO of different versions wich had many basic components of a L-model. Some early versions had L-model cabs. Although there were also different N's such as NJU or NB wich were different. NR, NM and NO have much of look in common but technically were different also. NR was 6x4 with a frame and chassis components of LF or LJ. NM had L-model hood and a cowl and cabs on early versions with Mack 707 and Mack 5-speed. But they were equipped with Timken-Detroit axles and a transfer case. A frame had "stepped" design, rails were higher under a hood and a cab than at rear to clear up a front wheel drive. NO was one more different beast. It had heavy rated Mack rears on Camelback with front axle like Paul described. 707 gasser under the hood (the same as in NM) with Mack 5-speed but integrated with a transfer case. The same style tranny was used in some heavy 6x6 B, something like B-813SX if I'm not wrong.

Although all Europe drive them. And sometimes they go bobtailing. I remember the funny story when a friend of mine was going to make a trip to his willage house about 100 km and had no car, only a truck at the moment. Yes, it was 15 years ago. That day was raining and he finally resolved to hook up a trailer to.

Any truck might be military if you paint it correct Mike, there was another, "small" version with a hood shorter and a gasser. But that's a matter for a new thread indeed.

Ken, I'm afraid I don't cheer you up too much. This pic seems to me as somebodie's art. The lettering on their backs look correct although those stripped pins are used by road police overhere. Shoes also don't look like a service stuff. So don't be too fast with crime. I mean if you see anywhere a MH with a grill in a decent shape think twice before pull it off

I hope you guys don't brake me down for off-topic, here are some pics I have of the "big" diesel WW2 Diamond-T's. The color pic is of the fresh restored one I catched up in France this past D-Day selebration and the black'n white ones are those trucks in a civil service in Russia right after the war. Mike, it would be too interesting to get over your dad's service days. Paul, good luck on the deal with the Red monster.

Some units now in existance - 1st pic - this truck was restored in Great Britain not long ago and was repowered with Cummins. It had original gasser before. 2nd and 3rd- well restored unit, also in GB Has original EY707 4th - NO of the Dutch army vehicles collection Next - a couple of shots of the one in Marshall museum in the Netherlands. And the last two pics of red units - these beasts were shure in the States

... And the talks were about F models with aerodyne cabs wich all were Europeans excepting that one. V8 powered Hayward R-Model was a cool thing to see in person indeed. Glad to recognize some faces in the meeting although I still wonder how did look the red head I recently read so many about.

Cool toy to play in sand. I think it still able to make some money if really needs. Hope the owner has enough area to keep it away of scrappers.
