Joe, thank you for clearing me up. I mostly known with Mack Camelback and Neway Airride. Most other trucks than Macks I'm familiar with (lightly familiar) are the locally used ones wich all are of 90's and 00's years. The "strange' thing I ment there were some brackets in betveen the springs of the FR and RR axles to wich the ends of those springs were attached. Just not too commonly used design nowadays on my mind. Vlad.

As about welding I also was first told from the shop where the guys were skilly with aluminium to cut off the end. Although I was absolutely disagreed with that solution due to high chances to get terrible outlook with no way to change it back. So I directed them to make the cut out from the back side of the tank, frame side. The reason to come in was the inside cross wall was off its place laying on the tank's bottom and required to be welded up back.

Partly revised front brakes on my R688ST of 1988. Looked over both (two) trucks and found out something like decsribed the best as a disaster. It was this past authumn and I resolved to get back closer to the warm time. So... Brake drums are useble, linings were avalible locally so I bought them and re-riveted. The most trouble seemed to me was the S-cams, the splines for slack adjusters were worn too much, saw no way to repair. Their bushings in the break shield (spider) are worn out also but I can make them new of brass (if thet're not avalible new). The slack adjusters need to be replaced, haven't found correctly ones overhere and all the offered were China-made. Front brake chambers required to put new ones on, the one of the existed was rotted through so I'm afraid to get it blasted off one day. Rear brake chambers are far from to be usable though. I didn't check all that stuff on Watts although want to hear some other suggestions on the sources of. Maybe there are chances to get good used parts or aftermarket . The truck is planned as a hobby one, not to make hundered thousand miles. Any thoughts on the matter are too appreciated. Vlad.

Al, don't you remember it was polished tank or just smooth alumunium? Polishing of the used one killed me so I'm looking for different solutions.

There's not much help of being in rush, I'm still with no flaps. After all the thinking about Watt's flaps look to me as the most attractive deal.

The words sound good. Let's see what will be done in the nearest couple of years.

Good luck on the landing, shure it will be alot of work to place all the stuff again but you have good chances to find many things you almost forget of. Hope and wish you keep well along whole the story.

I'm afraid the years aren't too small. The first pic's unit is almost the same as my couple and they are of '88. The truck on the shot with the fuel price is shure older.

There probably were Canadian cents. Maybe it cheers yourself up a little bit.
