  6. I double it, 37QR531P3 is a Mack part number for shure. It's a bit strange to me but NR model wich was built too close to LFSW had the chassis number on a left frame rail in front, just above the front spring. Still haven't seen or heard about any L-models with the same location.
  7. I had to fit 12.00R24's tubes instead of 11.00-24's because couldn't find correct ones. The bigger tyres set well, you can see it. And the color is just the US army one of WW2 time. I spent a bunch of time and labour to identify and mix it by the word.

  10. The rims of my 1945 NR fit onto the hubs that way. There is a plate welded on the inner surface of a rim wich you should place between the two spokes. Those spokes have special ribs on the sides opposit to each other so there is a space quite to fit the rim's plate in. That way a rim can't turn over the hub being locked with a plate. The air nippel slot is just in the middle of the plate. You can also install a rim with the plate between any other 2 spokes but there aren't the ribs and the space is wider. A rim would play around the hub having some extra space for. There are 2 pairs of spokes with the ribs (of all 6 spokes) just opposit to each other so there are 2 position to fit a rim. I think a rim wouldn't really turn over a hub so hard and that all is a kind of additional securing.
  11. Maybe he's just such a kind of man. It's his truck for shure and his way to addvertize it. Looks like it will lay down the yard for a long. There are no engine pics also. Let's wait for some time. There were no bids, maybe he'll be more active for the next attempt. Haven't you got his contact info excepting ebay? (Don't want you to tell it me, just wonder).

  13. I had no luck taking the tyres off the rims and brang them to a shop. Guys took them off with some labour but were going to brake the lock wheel because they didn't know there were rivets to keep the ring and the lock ring together. After sand blasting and painting I assembled 10 wheels to the moment with no troubles. Started to inflate them slowly being shure the lock ring seated well. Inflated up to the pressure securing the assembly with a couple of ropes.

  15. I see nothing wrong in your appinion for shure. I'm also not a great COE fan although such models as EHU and H63/67 look strange and too nice on my mind. As long I'm on here I slowly look these models for sale and haven't seen many of them. If the memory serves me good, there were no more than a couple EHU's during the last two years. This one is a tracktor and I like it better than flatbeds I saw before. Due to my location it doesn't matter this truck cost $1000 or $2000 because I'll need to add something about $8000 to get it home. And I can better ship it from the East coast. But the need to pay $1500 with additional $2000-$3000 for inside the US transportation doesn't make much luck. It looks a kind of good to me though because I better should work on my current projects than continue to collect nice scrap. What we all like to do so much

  18. I would love to pay 1500 but transportation to the East coast seems to me beyond of my pocket. Any ideas on how to transport it? I like it too much!

  21. I haven't come too excited about the stripping until I saw the picture with the sleeper. Shure it will look great. But right now with no grill and so on it seems to me damn attractive in relation of how that old dark red paint was.

  24. Little addition. Mack VIN starts from "1". When a truck was built in the US. But when it's Canadian VIN starts from "2".
  25. By the way I may use corner pinion/gear with a combination of big lower gear set off mine's 5.02's wich I actually have 3 sets. Ratio is determined more by an upper (corner) gear. But they are behind the covers for shure. It's not my need of the day, I plan to start on my R not earlier than in 1-2 years. Although 5.02 seems a bit slow for a hobby long distance travelling truck.
