  1. Nice pics Vin, I like to see Mack trucks in snow in other places of the planet. The first picture seems to me as Volva, there are some of them overhere with that cab. Have a nice holiday! And be shure the licence day will come. I've got my truck one (over 3.5 tons) just in this past june Have took the exam with ZiL-131 6x6. It had V8 gasser and ran as my 1944 NM.
  2. Superdog's place was PR'ed well before on here. I recognized the picture just seeing the vehicles so many, no additional thoughts. With that satellite technologies we old iron keepers need to dig under ground. By the word, I saw some collectors owerhere in Moscow who covered their lovely scrap with army masking nets. And it was long before Google Earth. Hope the pictures of the kind are interesting for friendly BMT members only.
  3. Where's that muddy turnaround he was so proud of? I tryed to download and install Google Earth but it's failed the computer instead of work each time I started it
  4. Nice looking.. Kenworth! I've got mind maybe one of the girls you runed by just bited the tyre? Or scratched it through by sharp nails? Glad you ended up good with it.
  5. Now you know it's able to smoke work. Fuel system revision is the next step.
  6. Eveybody??? This thing looks tiny for. At least you need to add a bus trailor to it.
  7. Looks dangerous for a truck.
  8. Nice looking trucks. The pictures don't represent new shoes/drums/s-cams etc you spent $$$ for though.
  9. Thank you for the link.It must be useful for me one day.
  10. This is the question I'm trying to clean up to me. NR manuals tell ED. I have never seen ED519 so suppose there is the only ED engine. The displacement note in the manual say 519 c.i. Intake mainfold consists of 2 pieces, or more correctly say 3 pieces. I thought originally ED means pre-chamber and END single chamber so surprized too when found out END672 Lanova. END457 is also Lanova but this is marine engine if the memory serves me good. Some sources tell 30's early B series trucks were equipped with ED Lanova's. Have neither info excepting the picture in that book though.
  11. Flowers near American ambassady in Moscow http://news.mail.ru/foto/118508/#photo5
  12. NR has neither pre heater, plugs only. Of course I haven't inspected all 16548 units were made but books told me. On my mind they're not really plugs. They aren't inside combastion chambers, in the head air inlets, heating an air before it gets in. Wonder how they are really efficient.
  13. Happy B-day! Best wishes!
  14. Media makes money from any sensation. It's food for them. Although a media is a social product. Regardless we like it or not.
  15. Good luck on your way
  16. Something new for me. My R's have double metal bumpers with stainless outside. They both are of the original look and seems to me from the factory. I asked Rob and he told me he has never seen stainless R bumpers. I purchased brand new one yet from Watt's. It's chrome plated steel but thiker than on the trucks. Has OEM sticker on. Hope I'll have it without rust if I don't drive the truck in winter. It's for a hobby.
  17. Glad you keep working outside. I have -20 day time at the moment.
  18. I too hope Mack inc. would continue to support the Museum as the great brand name keeper.
  19. My Lanova has heating units those fitted betveen cylinder heads and intake mainfold. There are electric spirales inside them with fat electric supply cables. You need to warm them up with a dash button before cranking. I heared these engines do not like cold start but can't say anything about my one because it's stuck now. Hasn't turned over probably since 1983. Heater plugs are typical for most pre-chamber engines as Mack Lanova is. Intake air is warming up for a fuel blow up when a piston going to it's upper point. Pre-chamber with main chamber (cylinder) have more cooling surface in relation to a single chamber. That's why these engines require more heat to start and usually use pre-heaters. Putting some bits of oil into cylinders is not a bad idea to prevent linings and pistons from dry scratching.
  20. If you say it's blowing but not cold enough it looks like a low gas pressure. I had an issue with a fridge when a compressor fault. Local service man came with a new one, tools, can of gas and propane jet. Made it up in 1 hour and it works till now from 1989 brake date. The guys who work at my shop use it for keeping their midday foods. 18 years is not the age for a fridge. I had an older one that worked from early 60's having original 127V. Needed to use transformer 127/220. It ended up nearly 2000 because of dry cracked door rubber. There were no chances for OEM one
  21. Granite looks good in the smoke due to it's orange cab
  22. I like the colors, looks bright. Glad you have her got fired up. Be careful driving while sitting on that plastic cage. I had experience when the same thing broke out right under myself when making a turn. I hooked of the steering wheel with no chances to break having no point to react. The vehicle had no doors also so I started to fall out still hanging on the wheel. She turned to the left instead of right into direction where people walking the street. Some moments later I got my balance and everything vent good. Uhhhh..
  23. Extremely attractive looking rig!
  24. You must be too lucky with all these papers. I see museum people are great! Hope it warmed you up with your nice truck. Thank you for the fresh bunch of pictures, like to see a truck in work.
  25. You have one axle unspringed while try to run the other only. Not a smooth way but can be resultive. Try to fix the axle with straps for load. They're more flexible, can absorb shocks while running. Use them more than one on each side. Lock one axle with brakes isn't good. You force the interaxle diff to run with double speed instead of keep unmoving or turning over slowly while the truck makes curves. Better is to lock it and than remove semi axles of rear propeller shaft. Of course be too careful making these things.
