Ha guys, Here are some pictures of the R700. I haven't been working a lot lately cause we are really slow so I finally had some time start restoring it. I brought my truck from work out to the house to take the junk cab off and the engine out over the weekend. I spent almost 3 hours steaming the engine and tranny off at work yesterday. I was just a tad bit wet when I was done . I finally got the right paint for the interior(man does it look better). I hope to be done sanding the exterior of the new cab it a few days. I'm planing on painting it this weekend or sometime next week if all goes well. Hope you guys enjoy . Thanks, Josh :SMOKIE-LFT:

No he doesn't yet but he's saving his pennies for one that he knows about that has a 375 V8 and a 12 speed in it. By the way the reason that U and DM models don't roll over is all that extra torque the put in them that Mack left out of the spec sheets just offsets the weight of the cab[thats my story and I'm sticking to it ] Thanks, Josh

Vinny, I do have those because my Dad just gave me his Mack paint chip chart this after noon[i didn't know he had this until this afternoon]. OK my brother just pointed out to me that I'm an idiot. The chart I have does have the paint codes I need. I guess there is a reason I keep him . Thanks again Vinny. By the way how long till the U model will be done?? Just so you know you are not the only one who likes the offset cabs. My brother is a DM800 nut. Thanks, Josh

I've been busy working on my new cab for my RS700 and haven't been on here for a while. I painted my interior last night and I don't like the color. I tried to match it best I could but it just don't look right. The color looked good in the can but not on the cab. Now my question is do any of you know what the PPG paint code is for the Medium Beige for the late 70's early 80's R model interiors?? I really hope some one can help me because I'm pulling my hair out over this. It was going perfect till this p!$$#& me off. Guess it's my own fault. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thanks, Josh

57 BCR I've been interested in the BCRs since I seen yours in the Bulldog magazine. Did Mack switch to the new style R cabs with the new dash on the BCRs in 1973 like they did with the R models? I really like the B75CR700 alot. do you have any interior and under hood pics of your BCR? Thanks, Josh -
Dave, Save Me a spot for my RS700 at the show this year as I plan to have it there as well. Thanks, Josh

Thank for all the great comments. As for the engine it had not been started since 1999 until we got it home. As soon as we got fuel to it it started right up and it sounds beautiful. I have since add a new alternator belt. The oil pan needs welded because it has a crack[you can see ever placed I've parked it]. the motor itself has been redone a some point[my cousin would know when]. The block, manifolds, and injection pump are all original. The oil pan, heads and valve covers are all off of a 1972 ENDT866. The motor originally had a dyntard engine brake but when it was rebuilt it was not put back on the engine. As for the breathers on the valve covers there off 6 cyls. but they're staying. When this truck was new it pulled a dump trailer. The second owner[the guy I bought it from] pulled a Rogers low boy with it until 1999 when he parked it for some reason. From what I've heard this was one of the nicesed looking trucks in pittsburgh back in its hay day. I did put the stack back on it too. Thanks, Josh

Mike, That's what every body thats seen has said. As for the cab it could be fix with alot of work but as I said a friend of mine already has a good cab for me. I certainly not going to get rid of the cab because I may need it for a future project you never know. The top of the cab is really like new as are the doors just the very bottom of it is got issues. As for it being rare thats kind of what I was thinking but Ireally haven't been able to find out how many were made. Does any one know? Thanks, Josh

I just bought this 1976 RS795LST about 3 weeks ago and I'm in love with it. Its got an ENDT 865 V8 with a 2 stick 6 speed. The cab needs replaced because it's rotted in several spots on the floor but my buddy's got one for me that just needs painted inside and out. The old girl will set you back in the seat. I'm planning on leaving it pretty much the way it is because it's just about the way I would have wanted one for as long as I can remember wanting a R700. I was going to paint it a dark blue but after getting it cleaned up I kind of like the wayy it's paint. Deatials, details! Oh ya did I mention is has a V8[i'm in candy land here]! I even have 2 spare engines to go get. My dad even remembers seeing this truck when she was brand new but back then she was painted blue front to back. What do you guys think of my big green bulldog? Thanks, Josh

Hey Guys, I've busy working and haven't had a lot of time to post anything lately but I got some time now. This spring my Brother and I saved a nice 1955 B61T from the scrap mans torch. Shes got an END673 with a 5 and 2 9 speed tranny. At some point in its life she went from a short single axle to a long twin screw. The frame needs some help due to the lenghtening of the frame and the scrap yard but the cab is in excelent condition. We plan to shorten it a little bit and make it a tractor. We don't plan on painting the body for now because it don't look to bad cleaned up but the frame needs painted after we fix it. I did paint some pinstripes on it and our name on the grill gaurd. We just put a new stack on it as well. Here's some pictures of it I took about 3 weeks, hopfully. Tell me what you guys think of the Junkyard Dog! Thanks, Josh

B 421
Yoos Brothers Construction replied to roscoe69's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Hi, My Brother and I have a 1959 B421 that originally had a EN401 Mack flathead and a TRQ77 5x4 20 speed tranny. It was repowered with a Mack EN414 V8 gas in 1971 by Mack which is really a Chysler 413 industrial engine, but it still has the original tranny. We are in the proscess of doing a ground up restoration with it. Ours has 7.32 rear ratios. We are keeping the V8 in it. Mack only made 2144 B421s and there aren't many still out there. Good luck with yours. Thanks, Josh -

Travis, That thing looked really nice with out the stripes and it looks even better know!!! I can't wait to see it again in person. By the way how long till you get Scratches old Magnum . If you go and look at it take some pictures for me cause I haven't seen it in a few years. Thanks, Josh -
Hi Greg, I myself am a truck nut and truck model nut[nut meaning stickler for detail]. I don't know if your aware but AMT/ertl made a 1/25 scale Mack DM895SX model kit in the 70's and then they re-released it a few years ago. It is a really nice model kit for good detail. I Recently finished one myself and it turned out really nice. I got it off ebea. Some one had built it a long time ago and many pieces were missing includeing the 865 V8 so I had to boro parts frome a newer one that my brother needed the chassis from. It ended up with a 675 6 cyclinder for an engine but it still turned out really nice. I also added lots of wireing and hose details. If you want I can post some pictures of it. Thanks, Josh
