  1. My co worker here in Christchurch, T1 took his Superliner with one of our 180 ton cranes to the north island46 tons on the trailer. Lots of narrow roa.ds and the ferry to the north island
  2. For those who do not know the term earth, it means ground. Silly but I didn't know till I arrived in NZ

I love Vermont and the Presidential Mountain Range but this is coolCan't say enough good things about the people on the south island too, They are very welcoming and interested in the American way.

  12. I'm not sure? I know about every 15 thousand K it twists the drive shaft. I'll ask that question. Thanks tucken for the advise.

  14. Paul I see this truck everyday in the yard. They double shift itIt has twisted 3 drive shafts off and it's an auto??? Mack is trying to figure it out. It's hasn't twisted one in a month and a half. It does get a lot of use.

  17. Jim thank goodness the road is flat and no bumps through the tunnel! I still crawl through the entrance look through the back window. Jim you and I and a lot of other folks on our site have come across a bridge or to and have done the right thing. Company's need educate their people more guess... Thanks Greg, I can hydraulically lower the trailer a few millimeters if needed but not good for ground clearance. I do make sure I measure the highest point on the machine. Good thing the cab folds over! I think you can get a pair of depends at the counter of the tunnel house
  18. No Shane that would have been embarrassing! mhe9 yes they do and having a load pilot helps a lot in tight areas which there are a lot of! Thanks Timmy! I find tunnels and bridges here a challenge for sure and after the second earthquake a lot of bridges are no go zones.
  19. Yah Paul I measured it every time before I went through the tunnel! Wasn't going to take any chances!
  20. Moved the Wirtgen 2500 reclaimer 5 times this week and three times through Lyttleton tunnel43 ton mill 4.25 high and the tunnel is 4.27 clearanceWe have to be escorted by the tunnel authorityThe tunnel is 6,460 ft long making it the longest in NZ
