  7. Cyclist Megan Erikson sat in the Western Star provided by Heavy Trucks Ltd to find out just what it’s like from a driver’s vantage point. Megan could only see the top of NZ Trucking Association CEO Dave Boyce’s head, when he stood in front of the truck, Dave being 188cm (6ft 2in) tall. Truck drivers and cyclists have not always enjoyed the warmest and most understanding of relationships and this initiative was part of the ongoing efforts by all stake holders to help improve awareness and communication. The NZ Trucking Association ran the truck awareness section of the morning with a A brand new Western Star conventional truck that was kindly supplied by Heavy Trucks Ltd in Christchurch.

  19. Project looks great! It will be amazing when it is done. Good luck working on it this winter. Hard to keep your hands warm on cold metal!
  20. Ed also the air bag lever, might get confusing. Put a roll up on the front of the 53 and would do away with the drop and hook.
