  1. Here is Casella's V8 CL. Their new low bed tractor is a IH but I bet the CL pulls better
  2. I picked up a 10 ton cheap in very good shape but it has electric brakes. Good for the farm!
  3. Rob if the truck was in a little better shape I'd put a dump on it for around the farm but the cab is shotand the frame is spreadingThe back of the cab is decent thoughand it still goes because it's a Mack!
  4. Bryan I drove that B with the the rock body for Julian in 1984 on their job they did in Waterford, Ct. Thanks for the memories!
  5. Jim, I just gave you one....hope it helps! Ed hope your boom was wearing it's personal protection equipment! That stuff should be labeled toxic! Frame less trailers dumps are more fun to watch take a nap.... I like the crank up roof vent and you think they would have put up the window when they parked it?
  6. Green and red are my favorite colors.....ERIN GO BRAGH! Or you could say Erin in her bra! Happy St. Patrick's day all!
  7. Yah, I guess you can only break that stuff down so much then it's off the the dump. Pretty nasty stuff for sure!
  8. I thought pig manure was bad....it's more like roses than that stuff. Here is my son's RD 600 he learned how to drive when he was old enough to reach the pedalsPoor old girl has seen her share of hard Vermont winters since 1981. Still runs like a top 237
  9. Great 10 ton trailer perfect size.
  10. Coming back from NYC heading back to Ct. I saw a bright red Trans Am in the reeds with flames coming out the windows. Couldn't believe my eyes. Had a guy in my truck once too when delivering in Brooklyn. When out from the dock to get my lunch and was surprised to see this guy sitting in my truck then it dawned on me he was stealing my stuff. I told him get out and he said ok man no problem and didn't get to touch anything. He was well dressed and clean, not the type I thought I'd see in that situation. He got in through the vent window but didn't break anything. After that I payed more attention.
  11. Doubling up the mills was great and got it done in half the time. Only thing I didn't like was being in Maine for the 4th of July instead of home.
  12. The guys that work at the land fill eat their lunch and push the pellets and garbage no problem. I guess you get used to anything! Here is a picture of Sonny Sloans Superliner V8 twelve speed that was once Pizzagalli's and survived being in a flood in their yard in Montgomery, Vermont. I believe it was a low bed tractor to begin with
  13. A real beauty congratulations!
  14. Interesting, My Grandfather cut the hood to change the muffler too. I guess when your farming and time is not easy to come by that is what they did. The H was a great little tractor!
  15. Rob, flap sided tarps can be used but the company doesn't like them because it takes longer to get rolling. Most hired trucks have them but no company trucks. James I see a lot of out of state dump trailers headed to the land fill with pelleted human waste from Mass. and Conn. They mix it in with the garbage and makes methane to run the generators.
  16. Beautiful colors on your truck, very nice. Two very nice big dogs. Thanks for the pictures! Great pictures Mike! Is the Freedom a everyday runner still?
  17. Well since we are all one big Old Castle family, Watch that Child has been put on many of Pikes trucks. For paving these bodies were put on and now the state of Vermont requires for any of their jobs sliding tarps that hold in the heat better. Very costly and the owner operators had a big coin to swallow.
  18. Ok you win the cleanest truck award Rob. Looks like you could eat off that floor. Beautiful truck!
  19. Thanks Mr. Tozzi, I also love those years and they are a real truck. Max has lost interest right now so I figured it would be a good way to help with welding school.
  20. I'm not picking this truck apart but agree that it is not an "87". Hood is late 70's early 80's and as mentioned the engine. The interior must have been changed because 1985 was the last year of the tan interior. It could make someone a decent hauler for the right price.
  21. Maybe the gas and tools to break down large equipment in the early days was very expensive and the large stuff was a hassle? Here is a car I wouldn't mind owning that was Great Grandpa's with my Mom back in 1945
