  1. Those CH's were and are pretty good damn trucks. The E7 engine did very well in my books.
  2. It's the oil cooler. Drain your cooling system and replace the hose. Most of those hoses are metric so try to find something as close as possible and away you go. Bleeding the system won't be a big deal.
  3. The Rad for a CS and CM are different in mounts. The frame is a different size. A rad place should be able to build something custom if you bring them the old rad.
  4. It's a lapel pin for Mack Canada. Just like all of the other Bulldog pins with different hats etc.
  5. Got'em. The bulldog is even the old style with the pointy ears and tail. I checked with the guy before I bought them. They are original leaves and not reproductions.
  6. If it's registered over 4600kg and you hook anything to it you should have an annual sticker on it. It can get real stupid between what a licensing office may tell you and an MTO enforcement officer will tell you on the side of the road. Think of it like a pickup pulling an RV trailer. What would you need for that is the best answer. Historical plates have some restrictions when it comes to hooking up to trailers I've been told.

  10. Maybe this will help
  11. We had a 06'SFA Rawhide CHN. From factory with a 460XT ASET and ran a 5" exhaust up the sides between the cab and sleeper. If I remember correctly the sleeper seemed to be mounted higher as the trim on the lower portion of the bunk was different and larger. I have a picture in my profile photo gallery of the door and how the exhaust comes out from under.
  12. There should be a hand primer at the inline 6 Bosch injection pump. It will look like a mushroom. Fill the filters pump it until hard, crank it over and keep the rev's over 1000 for a minute. Should clear it all up.
  13. Some fuel will come out. Fill the filters and it should almost start right up from where you left it. May stumble a bit but should be ok as long as you refill those filters before you spin them on.
  14. The bolts are behind the filters. Spin the filters off and you will see them.
  15. If your engine has a single valve cover that covers all 6 cylinders then you have the engine I'm thinking about. The 2 filters that are together on one side of the engine (driver side) are the fuel filters on one housing. The Midliners used 1 Mack size oil filter. There are 2 bolts that hold that housing to the block. You will need to removed the fuel filters to remove the filter housing bolts. Once that is dropped out of the way the starter can be dropped down if it's the engine I'm thinking of. If the engine has separate cylinder heads with separate valve covers I may be off on my suggestion. The dog house access on a CS Midliner is the very center panel between the floor and the dash. It is held in by 6 torx screws. On your truck it may have a hump in it. Newer ones have a depression in the panel with an anti slip surface sticker. Good luck
  16. If I remember correctly some of those CS Midliner starters were pulled up from the doghouse access in the cab not dropped down. I can remember 1 series of CS200 tou had to unbolt the fuel filter housing from the engine block to get the starter in or out. Just leave the fuel filter housing hanging. It all depends on what series of Renault motor your truck was built with. I know a few of the 89 CS's I worked on were tight but totally doable. Hope that helps.
  17. They probably did a poor job installing the cups. I've had one of our trucks in 3 times in 13 months. 3rd time was a charm and that was over 100,000kms ago. That job was cups only as well. Agreed that Mack and Volvo need to work on changing over to something better like common rail fuel systems. These unit injectors with cups are not holding up.
  18. You've got a really old 200 series full hydraulic with air assist. Ugh. Yes, very few of those left and I can see that one being an issue. I believe it was 86 where they discontinued the full juice brakes.
  19. A CS/MS of that vintage in a 200 series model should have front hydralic disc brakes and rear "S" cam air brakes. On a 200 series Midliners used a type 24/24 brake chamber 300 series used a type 30/30 chamber. Any north American chamber should fit. Be cautious as the air lines to the chamber are metric and an adapter from metric to standard will be at the chamber. The chamber is a standard thread chamber.
  20. Send me pictures of what you have if they are in decent shape. If its an issue with how much $$$ you want to get for them I can understand that. I have trucks going by your area every couple of days, so transport wouldn't be a big issue. Getting the older brackets etc off the old hood and paint/prep is on top of the after market hood cost. What have you got and how much to part with them if you are interested?
  21. It was a cheaper spec then a Mack trans at the time, was one of the higher torque rated trannies at the time and the 15 speed Fuller could be used for on highway hauling and had gears good enough for the gravel haulers to deliver a load of stone off road. We had 15 speeds in most of our 80's Macks and they did very well in all applications with very few issues. I actually got pricing on a 15 speed for a CH in the 90's. They are still available for order today but are actually more expensive on the build sheet then a 13 or 18 speed.
  22. Almost bolt on for it to be worth it..... We can get an after market for around $1800 and swap a few parts over. What have you got mon ami?
  23. In need of an RB hood. Its for an '89. The closer to me the better. Thanks.
  24. If the dealer installed new injectors (6-Pack) with the cup replacement its pretty common. I'm not sure how bad your noise is but every one of my MP8's that has had all injectors replaced seems a lot louder (its from the high injection pressures) for the first while. Let's face it, you are now running at full fuel pressure to the injectors that you were not getting due to your leaking injector cups.
  25. I believe that was one of Mack's hybrid test trucks in conjunction with the US Air Force. There was also a blue Granite dump truck and garbage trucks if I'm not mistaken???
