  1. One of the Plant employees I spoke with mentioned the 10 truck order is a "test purchase" to see if they work well in the fleet. Any order is a good order! (Fingers crossed)
  2. I'm still trying to wrap my head around shoe horning a 3406 CAT into that dang thing. (even with the longer hood) I always thought a 3208 CAT looked tight enough. Neat story. Thanks.
  3. Happy 4th !
  4. Good call..........Take off eh!
  5. Thanks Guys! Happy Canada Day!
  6. Check and see if your Fan clutch is a Behr fan....If it is its probably the fan clutch assembly. My 2005 Vision CXN would go through a fan clutch assembly every year and a half. The local dealers stocked at least 3 of them due to the high failure rates of that make....
  7. Wonder what he ended up paying for it? I was thinking about that U-model...It can be such a pain to bring it up to the Great White North though.
  8. Still in the green looks ok to me. 200 is a good average for a long loaded pull and if you have an air fan clutch is about where it should be cutting in and out.
  9. Timing event sensor is the sensor that screws into the side of the injection pump. The Rack actuator is internal to the injection pump and will need to have the pump removed from the engine in most cases. The 2 codes can sometimes pop up together if the large grey plug near the injection pump becomes loose or worn causing a bad connection. Check the plug for loose pins or broken wires at that plug harness before you go start replacing the expensive stuff.
  10. Do you think your MH was the one from the '89 calender? (Minus the fairing kit) or were those stripes common on MH's then? Nice Dogs!
  11. It's a shame how much our seasons up here make it hard to work outside on our rigs. Beutiful Superdog. Love the paint job and stripes
  12. Welcome.
  13. Friggen Sweet! Love the colors.
  14. When someone fiddles with the Injection pumps, turbos etc to get big power out of an E9, CAT 3406, or anything......Do you seriously think they give a crap about the emissions on it???? The engine was probably a nice little side project for the boys at Hagerstown put in a "privately owned" truck. NOT meant for production... If I'm not mistaken Pulling trucks like the Buckeye Bulldog had engineering from Hagerstown involved. I'm pretty sure in the Buckeye's case emissions were a complete afterthought. The Marine set up would be an excellent blue print for that motor.
  15. I know a bit about that truck........Condor float service Company was started by the son of the owner of a dump truck company that I could start an entirerly different thread on. Condelo. They are hard core MAck guys!!! That RW originally had an E9 in it but had alot of engine trouble with it. They pulled the E9 and installed a 3406B if I remember correctly. I know the owner of the truck and would rather not name him.. Its been a year or so since I have spoke to him. He is a Huge Mack fan and his family even have a beutiful B model dump, DM's, RB's I have some nice pictures of the R float he first built. He found it too small for heavy float work he did. I think he may be quietly on this forum. The work they have done to all of their MAcks has been amazing for construction trucks. The keep their equipment top notch!
  16. Hagerstown Mack built many engines for Merlin Marine that were ME7 engines rated from 600-800hp for use in marine applications. So building an E7 with a rating like that (if it is an E7?) is no real strech. The marine E9's were rated up to 900hp. All built by Mack and finished with stainless cooling systems by Merlin Marine in the 90's
  17. Same problem with the bus....My Daughters wanted to tour the plant first. We made it on the first bus to the plant after 9am and didn't return till 12:10pm By the time I made it to the tent there was like 3 or 4 guys there and the Girls were all dragging me over to the table to buy them more Mack stuff! Dohhh! Good time had by all though, so well worth it. Loved finding that U700 hiding as well. Didnt get to find out what the rating was on that Cummins under the hood. Anyone have any ideas? Was that U700 an ex Roadway or something????
  18. Wasnt this truck in an MH brochure but it had a set of cab fairings on it? Maybe its just the stripes but the truck looks really familiar. Yep! Found it I think......1989 Mack calander. Same truck????
  19. Thanks for the offer BC Mack. The 2 trucks I am waiting for are in amazing condition and are driven very little. The company that owns them is waiting to shed them from the fleet and have equipment that willl need to be swaped from the 2 trucks to newer units. I have bought from this gentleman before. Its only a matter of time and for their condition and the way the keep them up, it will be worth the wait. Thanks again though.
  20. Did the same thing years ago on my R-model had straights on it and went back to mufflers. (4"in and 5" out though) That RW looks good with the mufflers and pipes.
