  1. I had to go parts chasing today, been seeing this truck at an equipment yard, finally stopped to eyeball it, its for sale, man says $5250.00 today only. I have uncanny ability to read minds, guess im superhuman, I think he would go way cheaper. I believe Rob needs this in case other winch truck needs winching. The floorboard looked like a porcupine with all the levers sticking up, plate said B-62SX. Somebody went crazy with orange spray paint inside cab and painted all over plates and all. Anybody interested, message me, either on here or telepathically. randyp
  2. heh heh,,Im almost bout ready to try out for one of your computer apprentice "espionage training programs". You oughta seen me scratching hair on my head trying to figure out how to get that on puter and post it, (all 3 hairs). I admit it, I missed the boat on computer training era. That "thang" has a V-12 detroit with straight pipes, dont you know that will rattle your junk!! randyp
  3. Other Dog got a new P*t*rbilt, not sure where hes gonna hang chains or put fifth wheel,, randyp
  4. heh heh That does it, I GOTTA get me a hat and a gold tooth!!!! Forget the pistol, am already minus 2 toes though. I want a whip too, if they make one with a "thumb". randyp
  5. To quote David earlier in this thread, "I dont know how I ever made it in my pre-thumb days." I did a lot of scooting and trying to snag with bucket and probably wasted a lot of time and fuel. Im working in a creek bottom now with bout 5 million river birches, all on the creek bank and packed like sardines. The main characteristic of a river birch is their root ball extends bout 12 to 15 feet from base of tree and lil hairy roots must hold 5 or 6 yards of dirt each. You have to shake each one or drop them several times to get it to break loose. To top that all offf, landowner is there every day, watching, and keeps saying "dont get any dirt in piles, shake some more out, no dirt in piles", oh well, all that shaking is costing him by the hour. These birches average bout 12 to 15 inches across at chest high and bout 100 feet straight up. I do know if I put to much pressure on thumb and bucket, it will sheer right through one and shatter it! So far, am really happy with thumb, this current endeavor wouldnt be possible without it, heh,,may mount one on front of my pickup now,,,heh heh,,Merry Christmas to all,,,randyp
  6. Well, its just a good thing you werent injured. Automotive body parts are easily replaced, although its bothersome. Human body parts are a different story. Glad you came through it okay,,,Merry Christmas,,randyp

    Randyp?

Rob, send me a personal article of clothing of your supervisor and I will "lock Spot on target", havent fed him much lately either, so it may get a lil messy. I rode charter bus last night to Brownwood, Texas Rob, having gone to school in Waco, you may be familiar with Brownwood. It was a lil over 5 hr. one way trip. Baptist church chartered it for fans, all they charged was one canned good per person, thought that was nice and benevolent of them. We won, play state game in Ft. Worth next week, ifn we win, will be our third state football championship for 3 years straight, and either our ninth or tenth in school history. It is also brutally cold here too. Have a wonderful Christmas,,randyp

  11. I hear you GG2, that ran across my mind several times when I was struggling to put it in stow position to weld pin boss on! randyp
  12. heh,,yeah rhasler, I did see a photo one time of one that had penetrated fairly deeply into a pickup cab, something to think bout, I think I will build a good solid rack, and be sure and have gauges off and cap on bottles when I transport,,,thanks,,,randyp
  13. Thanks Leslie, I am fairly accomplished welder, just dont know all the technical side of it. I appreciate the info, and will just mount them both in a good solid rack in upright position, thanks,,,,randyp
  14. I have a question, me not being a welder "by trade", I usually rent an engine driven welder when I need to do some welding. I can rent one here for $60.00 for 24 hours, a whisperweld 250 amp mounted on axle with Honda gas engine. It does okay, but want to get one of my own for better convience. Im going to either get a Miller bobcat or trailblazer series and mount it on a small trailer, along with an air compressor and oxy-acetylene bottles. Not being a educated welder, my question is, Do I have to mount the oxy-acetylene in a standing position, or is it okay to build a rack for the bottles to lie flat in trailer? Reason I ask, seems like it would ride better lying down. Got any professional opinions on this or rules? thanks,,,,randyp
  15. Geez loueeeezzzee,,zowie wowie wow owo,,I have piled timber so high with handy dandy thumb, I can clumb up on it and see part of puerto rico! That doodad iss just way too handy and efficient, working most excellent, no cracks, (even after my welding) Think I will buy nuther one to sit in yard and drink coffee on. i think im in wub,,, RANDYPEE

  20. Mine does that on occasion, I just pull cover off back, crank engine, tape a commutator cleaning bar to a stick, and clean it good while its spinning, then spray some lectra clean down in there. Course, mine gets a lil oil on it on occasion from power steering pump which mounts to back of generator, or take tail cover off and look at brushes,,,randyp
