  1. Made new mounts today, not perfect but alot better than what we had. The mud flap i used wasn't the same thickness everywhere but i think it will work okay.
  2. My parts truck showed up Friday. Getting some sanding done even had my helper working on it. Everything is really solid just had a lot of chips in it. Its still the original paint which isn't bad for this part of the country.
  3. I like the gauges. I wanted those for in my Superliner but I couldn't get them in everything I needed.
  4. I had a 2000 Ch with a 400 and it was pretty sick. Very dependable but not much on a hill. My 89 R with a 350 would run circles around it.
  5. 1750 rpm will only run about 60 mph. It has the 3 leaf rear springs , aluminum rearends, which I don't think I've ever seen. Everything seems lightweight on it and I don't know what ratio the rears are but I wouldn't they would be that low.
  6. I had a 350 and 9 speed in my 89 and it ran great. I figured the 300 wouldn't be bad but I don't know about the 250. I used to run a 69 r model with a 237 so I guess I'll see how it does.
  7. Thanks everyone. Thats what i thought just wanted to make sure. My 89 had the Dynatard and someone must have added the clutch switch. I had a jake put on it when i had the motor rebuilt but i never checked how it was wired.
  8. i know what you mean about the 5 speed. Whats even worse i was told it was a 300 and stupid me i didn't check tag on motor until today and its only a 250. i know where there was a MH with a 350 and 10 speed so if its still there it will make a good parts truck. The cab and frame were rough on the MH.I plan on a quick paint job and putting it to work. Some would say I'm nuts been working for a company driving a 2013 Pete, real nice truck but its just not the same.

    jake switch

looking for jake clutch switch. pm if you have one
  10. Its a dynatard but i would think it would be the same. I had my 89 changed to a jake and they used the same switches but i didn't pay attention to how they were wired. Im thinking to wire it in between the pump and the dash switch?
  11. Just picked up my new toy. 1985 R685st 300 5 speed. Not real crazy about the 5 speed but will have to do for now. Cab needs painted and interior needs a good going over. Nice frame and cab and doors are real solid. I made it one year as a company driver but just had to get my own again.
  12. Anyone have wiring diagram or tell me how to wire in a clutch pedal switch on a 85 r model.
  13. I thought that also but the bolts are a lot closer together on this.
  14. Here's a picture of the core support mount. I was thinking if nothing else I would take a couple pieces of half inch mud flap and reuse the metal pieces off the original one.
  15. Its in pretty bad shape but I'll try and get a picture of it tomorrow
  16. We ordered some from auto parts store. Wasn't sure if they were going to be the right ones or not but we got lucky. I didn't think we would find the rear ones but they were right. No luck on the core support mount though. Thanks for all the help.
  17. I have a lawnmower doing the same thing
  18. There's an old gmc dealer that's usually good at finding what we need but havent heard back from them.
