  1. Loose leaf logs work great for things like that
  2. If I remember right I drilled a hole through the center of mine and then I was able to drive them out. Replaced them with stainless carriage bolts.
  3. Very nice work
  4. Looks better than any of those new ones
  5. Looking great. All of the work you have done in a short amount of time has motivated me to get back to work on my Superliner
  6. I got a high speed driving award on that hill on 77 once. I was coming down the other side moving right along just trying to maintain my speed up the other side. The cop didn't see it that way though. He was sitting in the cross road at the bottom in an unmarked car, saw the patch on his sleeve when I went by, I knew I was screwed.
  7. The top of my drivers door vibrates a lot also. I don't notice the passenger side moving at all.
  8. I had a Star Class bunk built for my 84 R when I had it and that's what they used. They used the narrow one at first but with the air ride cab moving it tore, so they put the wider one in and I didn't have any problems.
  9. Why can't they still make trucks that look like this
  10. I drove a company truck while the motor was out of mine. 2014 Peterbilt that had an Eaton automatic in it. I hated it couldn't wait to get back in my 26 year old R.
  11. Looks good. Now you have to get started on the bed.
  12. I bought one of those jacks awhile back. First one wouldn't go up sent it back second one leaked so far third ones been good. Probably had it for two years now. Saves a lot of work.
  13. I always had straight pipes on my old R models and liked it but I put one on my Ch and after two days I took it off. It sounded good but just seemed to have a different rumble to it going down the road . Drove me nuts. About six months later thought I would try it again didn't last any longer that time either. I have straight pipes on my Super with the mufflers in them wish they were a little louder.
  14. I stopped at the Mack garage in Erie yesterday and driving around the building I saw three Penndot trucks there and one had a bunch of stuff in front of it that looked like insulation. Down a little bit was a reefer sitting and I thought I bet the driver hit the snowplow bracket on it. I went inside and pretty soon one of those non English speaking people came in and was trying to tell the parts manager he hit a truck. I didn't look at it but they showed me a picture and said he ripped it open about 3/4 of the way. I guess Volvo didn't put mirrors on the right side that.
  15. Good luck with the paint. It's looking good so far.
  16. Thanks for the replies
  17. Can anyone tell me what is best to use. I thought I read somewhere you can use 50 weight synthetic like in a Fuller but Mack garage said it would burn it up. I talked to a transmission shop today and they said that's what they put in them. Just wondering what's best to use
  18. Glad to see you didn't have to strip it down much lol. Looks real good
  19. Looking good. Battery box covers turned out great.
  20. What size bunk did you take off and is it for sale?
  21. Did the extension fit tight on the toggle switch? I bought some chrome ones for my R and they are to big. All of the ones I'm finding are 1/4 inch ID and that's to big. I know years ago they made a couple different sizes.
