    I hate 7 speeds. Never came accross one that was shifting good. Worst mack tranny in my opinion.

    E7 macanical are wicked good. Better then E6. Vmac1 are good but will make you swear once in a while and remind you that a rod would cost you about 50$ to change from cab to pump instead of a control unit at the decent cost of about 1500$... And I should tell you that they dont have the guts you'll expect. You can put a programmer (750$) to notice improvement but you'll also find out that the water temp will get too hot.. Theyre nice, 25000hrs and they're still good to go after a head gasket. My 2 cents get an E7 with a mecanical pump and you'll love your Mack again.

    I have 6 in my basement. I think they were about 110$ a piece last spring. Not oem Mack but bought at the Mack Quebec dealer.

    Guess what, next year 2-3 guys wearing a strange cloth made hat in a tired f***liner will cut the rates and get the job!

    They started building them with HMM chassis in the 70's. Similar to a CCC truck for reference. We had one in try, it was green and white.

    Older 18 had lower speed in reverse. In 97-98, according to the truck I have, they speeded them up a bit. One of the xxx update they did.
