  1. If that trailer could talk, the stories it would tell would probably scare you.
  2. There were a couple on Chicago Craigslist and Milwaukee craiglist . If you find something up this way I could help you looking at it or storing for you. We actually sent a truck to Rockwood TN and then picked up some trailers in HuntsvilleTN back home. The chances of that happening again are slim, but this is trucking and things change by the minute.
  3. I don't think you will be able to have a 5 inch inlet and a 5 inch pipe from the muffler to the flex, because thier just isn't any room for the larger diameter pipe. Chrome mufflers are available and you should check around mack dealers for the chrome pipe that would come from the bottom of the muffler to the flex. There is a big difference in pricing from one dealer to the next. Our first call is to Axle Equipment and then CIT.
  4. Here's a shot of my brother heading towards me the other day. His truck had been down for awhile for drive train upgrades. Out came the. Mack 9 sp and 5.05 rears and in went a Mack 12 and 4.17 rears. He is happy with the improvements thus far
  5. I've always liked the idea of no truck payment, but a trailer payment. New trucks = more problems/downtime, more wieght, payments. New trailer will give you something to depreciated out and weigh less which = save/ make you money. Just my thoughts. Except for the new truck we got last year, all the other tractors are 9 years old and up, but we buy new wagons damn near every year.
  6. Those granites are damn nice trucks. We have 5 of them and they get around great, just run like shit.
  7. A lot of money for a knock off dump trailer. I wanted to bid online for an Isuzu lil tilt cab. I didn't even get to bid. It went up like a rocket and sold for $8500. Didn't see what the Macks went for, was only checking when I got back to pit and had a chance to look.
  8. Fuel report for today: 85' R model 350 hp E6 pretty much stock, 12 sp 4.17 rears hauled 7 loads of gravel with a short dump grossing 70-72K. 205 miles total 47 gallons= 4.36 MPG.
  9. I have Taperleaf(3 leaf). I have a 12 speed which is a lil heavy. I also have a box full of flatbed equipment. My bother's 91' RD with the heavy single frame and camelback is about 600# heavier. The problem with a light unit is that you can never get loaded correctly. Too light or too heavy, never dead on. An air ride trailer will make your RD ride a lot smoother and when those other guys are spinning out with there air ride tractors, you will be keeping traction and leaving ahead of them.
  10. Ran our Mdrive last Thursday 280 miles grossing 79K# pulling a flat hauling block then shingles, with about 100 total miles empty 5.25 mpg have to admit I had my foot in it unintentionally. Damn things is so quiet and smooth you just don't notice that you are cooking along pretty good.
  11. Here's my empty weight. 85' R model with 06' Trailstar 22 foot dump full of fuel
  12. Air ride trailer for sure. My R has taperleaf and if I'm pulling a spring ride flat or hopper, I know which bridge joints on I-90 will have me hit my head on the ceiling. Same bridge joint with an air ride trailer and I hardly noticed it. We acquired an 06 Trailstar 22 foot Aluminum dump last year on air ride, it's a great trailer.
  13. Looks like it was a mixer chassis. I saw some R-models that were repo we're with wither 3176 or C-12 CATS.
  14. Went down and looked at them. All they need to be put to work is tires. All three have the cleanest, unabused interiors I've ever seen. If I had drivers for them they would be here. $14K each is what they are asking and all have recent Majors on the engines.
  15. Me too! The thing is, if you want to buy sight unseen, you bid accordingly, or get your butt up there and put your hands on it and see what you are getting in too.
  16. I was trying to convince a friend that he needed this truck. my guess is that it will go $100k
  17. I bid on the Louisville mixer, but I'm cheap and didn't get it. Now, don't get on about bidding on a Ford. They are handy as a 6-wheeler mixer and the L10 would have been a "big horse" compared to the one we have with an 8.3.
  18. They are in towards the city. Maywood, I think.
  19. I drove it back from loves park last week and I have to say it drives effortlessly. Mack really has there shit together on this compared to the automated Fullers I've been around. Once the weather breaks, it's gonna get crazy!
  20. I don't know off hand what the rear ratio is. Ours is an MP8 at 405 hp. The driver LOVES it! The jake works great. The mileage took a hit with the cold weather. It's been averaging 5.75 since it's been cold out. Pretty much pulling a cement tank full time and the way the PTO is set up, the RPMs of the truck are at 1400. Doing that 3-4 times a day for a half an hour at crack doesn't help MPG's either. It been back to the dealer twice since June, which I don't think is too bad. Both times were for updates, not problems. It has been decided over here, that any new iron will have an Mdrive. Problem with that is, we keep rebuilding CH's, so who needs a new truck.?
  21. E-7 electronic 400 hp. Mack 13 sp trans.
  22. 97' CH we have had since new. 1.25 million miles and never been overhauled. One of the best damn Macks we've ever had.
  23. We have an 87 DM mixer that has a 2valve in it. Plate on the motor says it's an 87'
