  1. Wide concrete slab in Cary, IL
  2. Party is a bit of an over statement. We washed 6 out of 7 hoppers and the tractors hooked to them. The 7th didn't get done cuz it hadn't been on the road since it's last bath. Even got a tractor and a flatbed thru. Arms are tired and the feet are wet.
  3. If you came up and picked it up today you could have swung by and helped wash hoppers. Pizza was provided and the conversation is usually pretty interesting.
  4. Greendash should be more responsible and stay on the road!
  5. My Value-Liner got to ride on the back of that one time. The guy that drove it at the time was from the Harvard area.
  6. I was thinking that you had to have seen one of us. We are always in that hood.
  7. What was the idea to flipping it over like that?
  8. Wtf?? All that would bother me too, seems petty to me. You can always come up here and the boys will teach you how to "roll" pipe.
  9. I have those on my R. Picked them up at Napa at a good price and they are Grote.
  10. nope, about 20 miles south, may be a bit before my time.
  11. I don't know of the trucks you are talking about, but if it's the same Drake I see at the ethanol plant in Rochelle, they don't run Macks anymore.
  12. I've owned 2 of them and sold one to Fullfuel01 and the other to Thunderdog. A third one is up by Whitewater WI belongs to a farmer who got It prettied up and runs it. Don't know what ever become of the other 2. There were a total of 5.
  13. Sounds like you have a handle on it. Come on down and we can keep you busy working on seats. I priced new covers and cushions last week and I was quoted $289, that's was for the bottom and the back. New seat is $650 plus freight.
  14. The word on that Superliner from Tommy, is that it belongs to Bill Stephenhagen.
  15. http://terrehaute.craigslist.org/cto/4789813521.html No connection, just came across it.
  16. We do 90% of our Mack parts business with Axle Equipment (Nagel) in Batavia
  17. I picked up my 85' R for $5K, most of the work I did was by choice. Changed the fluids, brakes, tires, and painted it myself. A lot of different things I needed, I found around the shop. All and all I got it on the road for under $10K. Like RSD501 stated, chasing hoses, air valves, thermostat, and corroded tanks happen, but they are better than truck payments.
  18. I'm guessing rt 14 and silver lake rd by Cary
  19. My truck had been sitting for years before I acquired it. Serviced the truck ran it a bit and the Dynatard worked good, had the valves adjusted and it works great. The best is when empty, shifting it like a 5speed with the Dynatard, makes the Paccar guys put air in the seat to see what just past their ass.
  20. My Dynatard works great. E-6 with a 12speed.
  21. At the risk of sounding ignorant, I know what you mean by vertical mount (first R I dove to make a living had one), but I didn't realize there was a special radio for such an application. The R model I drove that was set up like that had a K- mart brand radio. I doubt that was factory equipment.
  22. Plote Const mixer in Belvidere,IL
  23. They have been trying to sell me that truck lately. E-7, Mack 9 sp on Taper leaf, pretty sure the frame rails have been replaced. Powers higher than me have stated that there is an Antique Moratorium at Stark Service. Guess I'm gonna have a cut thru the red tape and find a loop hole around that one.
  24. Tracker ran that Dog into the ground plus some. I had not heard that he passed away. He got rid of the truck at the height of the exporting. It was shot, he would come by our shop for some service help. My Dad ran with him back in the late 70's.
  25. That red R model is an old Harry Kuhn truck. The same guy has been running it for years.
