  1. Not too many clues here. I see the hood scoop on the Western, so that puts it in the mid 70's, the trailer is an old Heil that belonged to Harry W. Kuhn judging by the unit number. The far R-model I would guess to be an 88 or 89. I don't like seeing Macks from my area that I don't know.
  2. I called about one this AM that is heading that way. The owner was upset, but he needed to sell it. I informed him that rebuild and reuse our Macks. That didn't help how he felt. Once again, I was a day late.
  3. I don't know the truck either, and that bothers me.
  4. The fella that used to be a the general manager in Rockford's opinion was that the RB was the most overlooked Mack, for many different applications. We had one for a few years and it was a good truck. I can't find any pictures of it.
  5. I have been an active member on this site since November 2005. When I found this site, I was amazed at how many other Mack fans there were throughout the world. The main thing here for me is that I have met a lot of knowledgeable people through this site. I need some time off from it. The constant soapbox dance of a few members has wore me down. don't get me wrong, everyone has their opinion and that's great, I just hate seeing it get hijacked on a daily basis. When there is a good thread going you are let down when you a new post from certain members, because you know its going to get drug down. More than likely, I will not be gone long. I just need a break from it because it is not enjoyable anymore. The purpose of coming here is to not be aggravated.
  6. I think of myself as a Teabag Conservative. On the other hand, I don't have any problems with any of the religions, races, or countries that you assume I do. Everyone should stop making assumptions about what they think the other guy thinks. Just remember this, when you argue with a fool, people from a distance cant tell who is who.
  7. Someone told me that the quickest way to ruin a motorcycle is to add a thrid wheel.
  8. We are there all the time.
  9. We got the news today that ObamaCare is going to raise our health insurance premiums $36K a year. We have 20 employees.
  10. I think that would be the cabover from the same era.
  11. I knew someone would flip it around. I was a little dissapointed that it diddnt have a Detroit.
  12. Found this gem today, actually I've known this truck a long time and lost track of it. I was told that it is 1969 with a 250 Cummins and a 10 speed road ranger. Truck is real straight for its age. Sitting there hooked to the old Heil dump, it was like stepping back in time.
  13. Copy that.
  14. I used some generic stuff from J.C Whitney. It did ok, but not as good as I thought It should have. There are a few possible R-model projects coming my way in the near future. Maybe I should be looking into Rattle Trap.
  15. The only shows I care to watch seem to be on FX or A&E. Justified, Bates Motel, Longmire. All excellent shows that aren't on the "networks". Can't forget PBR Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Then Hee Haw on RFD.
  16. That 700 really dominates a room.
  17. Should be four tolls. All totaled with a 5 axle should get you to the stateline for about $20.00. You could also run into the city and run I-94 to rt 41 to stray clear of the tolls, but there is a scale on Rt 41.
  18. I-294, if running over size, you have to buy permits at they first toll plaza you come across.
  19. Leaving it Blue isn't really an option around here. Although it's nice to say " go ahead and take Blue".
  20. We only took it out because we had an 18 inch to put in it. I personally, would have left it in. It added character, wait that truck oozes character.
  21. I hope this works.
  22. How many miles do you have to drive to wear through the outer shell and get into the steel? Approximately a little over 3 million miles. We just took this wheel out of the 1981 R770 that we acquired this spring. The wear on the steering wheel is a testament to the longevity of the truck. In coarse of its years it had 3 different engines, two sets of frame rails, 2 different suspensions, and 2 paint jobs. The only main things that were not switched out were the cab, hood and steer axle. Right now it has an E-7 400 mech, Fuller 13, and Mack rears on air ride. It is an absolute pleasure to drive.
  23. Illinois plate. That should help narrow it down.
