  1. I personally would not use an E-6. E-7 mechanical/electronic would be my choice. I would also stay away from the E-tec series. Just my opinion. -Brad
  2. Thanks for posting pictures form Catoms early years. People see Catom and think black KW's, but they, like many others started out staring at a dog's ass. -Brad
  3. I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Salce last summer. I always admired his trucks for there simplicity, and functionality. I bought some aluminum R-model tanks off of him. He was running 40 trucks. As the economy continued downwards, he downsized. He also has a "pet" tiger, so I wouldn't piss him off. -Brad
  4. I'm glad you found this thread. Can't really talk Chicagoland Macks without the Kamp's chipping in. -Brad
  5. Deregulation let everyone in the game, weather or not they should be. My Dad got his authority the old fashion way. It cost big bucks and took a lot of work to get. Now it is sort of a worthless piece of paper. My opinion is that deregulation brought us the problems we are forced to deal with in the industry today. To help combat the problems they created (they being the US govt), CSA was created. Kind of a Oh Shit! We have to rein in these unqualified carriers that we allowed to get started in the first place. I just applied to get a brokerage authority, it's $300.00, a $10,000.00 surety bond($300.00), and filling out small amount of paper work. Just doesn't seem right to me. -Brad
  6. I think that trailer was an 86' Chamberlin. It did have a hog deck. -Brad
  7. Value-Liner with a bull rack. I never personally hauled livestock, but the company had an account for many years that was good for 2 loads of hogs every other week, year round. Also hauled cattle for a few local farmers, until they gave up feeding them out. I was pulling the trailer to it's new owner in this picture. Had to be about 12 years ago. Enjoy! - Brad
  8. I have 2 good complete doors, 2 new door skins, air ride cab kit, misc. parts for 9500's and Brigadiers. If any one is interested PM me on here. Thanks, Brad
  9. That pretty much sums it up. -Brad
  10. Two Story Ford. At least that is what I have heard them refered to as. -Brad
  11. That's a damn fine looking truck. -Brad
  12. They are down on Mannheim and Armitage in Melrose Park. A fella we work with just recently bought Celli's remaining dump trailers. Celli and Lodesky out of Gurnee are 2 of the best trucking companies to ever work in the Chiacgoland area. Of coarse that is just my opinion. -Brad
  13. This was my Dad's Cruise Liner. It's an 82. -Brad
  14. Snow Day Hendricksons. Enjoy! -Brad
  15. Snowed in here also. -Brad
  16. Anthony is a good kid despite what his brother may say. His first week on the road I had him hauling a 12 foot wide box culvert up through the city (Chicago). I wasn't worried in the least. -Brad
  17. Yes, I bought it from a farmer about 30 miles south of Fort Wayne IN. 350 Cummins, Fuller 10 sp, and some kind of generic rears riding on rayco spring. A real mutt. Drove it the 5 hours home with no problems. I had not been in a Cruiseliner since the one my Dad had when I was about 7-8 years old. All I remember about that one was the old man cussing it. -Brad
  18. white with Allis Chalmers orange and gold seperating the two. Thanks Guys. -Brad
  19. A reappearing truck here.....Your Dirty Chicago Mack of the Day. I do not make a habit of pulling a van. We had rented this trailer for a month and I drew the short straw and had to return it today. Enjoy. -Brad
  20. Leave it your name alone. We use a pinstriper who is out of West Chicago. He could give it the flare it needs. PM me for his phone number. You should be able to see his striping on our trucks in my pictures. -Brad
  21. That pretty much sums it up. -Brad
  22. That Granite has no balls but I will admit it rides damn good for a short wheel base truck. Would rather drive the Granite than one of our narrow cab T800's any day. I think that is an easy one. -Brad
  23. I would like the passenger seat out of that truck. I bugged the guy that Jim bought it from , but he wasn't bagging the leaves I was raking. I will take the nice, grey, seat and a half and I will replace it with a nice regular passenger seat. I better track Jim down. By the way, how about a self portrait of you and the Bulldog you were driving today?
  24. The Manning truck is still in the area and it is fairly beat. -Brad
  25. My Dad has had a hard on for an Allis motor as long as I can remember. He grew up on Rt.59 north of West Chicago IL and loved to hear those Allis powered Western F's spool up after stopping for him to get off the bus. He says he is done building trucks but, I know if he found an Allis motor, he would be building a truck for it. -Brad
