  1. I have wanted to do the same thing with my RD. There is one on Ebay rite now for $30.00 Thanks, Brad
  2. I just want to say "thank you" to all who had such nice things to say about our trucks, my family, and myself. Thanks, Brad
  3. I just purchased a Pete. 1985 359, 300 Cummins,9 sp. I am guilty of having a weak moment. Brad
  4. I thought it was a roll of sod and a Big girl....
  5. I am going to start this out by saying this....I can't stand it when guys run around with no air in the seat. All you see coming at you is a ballcap sticking up just above the steering wheel. The guys we have had through here that sat on the floor like they were BiggRiggers always had front end/ front right corner fender benders. Theyall got the warning too....put some damn air in the seat and you will see that shit before you Hit it. I don't take being short as a good excuse either... there is a fella driving for us that is about 5foot 6inches tall, has lots of air in his seat, and hasn't had a fender bender in about 50 years. It seems that when you see a fella driving a large car with a seat in the basement, it is usally a Pete. Must be embrassed to be seen it. Sorry about the Rant. Thanks, Brad
  6. We are on a HMO plan through work. We got a letter notifying us of possible changes. BC/BS here also. I don't see how what they want to do will help anyone. Brad
  7. Gambi.... I think the only thing you didnt see was the cement tank.....That road has been going to shit for years. In a way it is good, the pot holes keep you awake. Brad
  8. and then he will not post anymore. Brad
  9. hurt his feelings....
  10. you may....
  11. take it easy...
  12. There were a bunch of those trucks on the Ritchie Bros auction a few months back in Morris,IL . You could have picked one up in the mid teen$$. Persoanlly, if I wanted to drive a truck with something other than Mack power, I wouldn't drive a Mack. It bothers me that my RD has a fuller trans. Keep it a pure breed, or drive a component mutt. Brad
  13. Gambi, I have seen Stewert around before. They were hauling into Corn products the other day. I don't know how they can warrant hauling corn in those trailers, between the short trailers and flip tarps. I have used the excavator before on a steel trailer. Right now I am going to try adding more calicum chloride to our mix and see if it works better. I think the main problem is that it has been so damn cold. If it would stay in the high teens and into the 20's things would be better on all fronts. Brad
  14. Rowdy, Do you use chloride in your box at all? We have been hauling some slag in our long dump and the driver said that it is sticking pretty good despite the chloride we are using. Any pointers? Thanks, Brad
  15. We have talked about doing what Rob said with one of the POS we have(the one with an all mack drivetrain). Our thoughts are that once it goes down for the big one, then we are going to either take all the crap off of it and see if we can still make it run, or put a different motor in it. The truck is set up nice for what we do. Thought about selling it, but we would take a bath on it. Has far as Gambi swapping up to an E-tech....I wouldn't. They run a lil better, but I just don't see what you would really be gaining long term. The motor you have now will run for ever with proper maintence. When it does get tired, go nuts building it up.
  16. I feel like the wind has been taken out of sails.
  17. I bet the truck you are looking at is from a fuel hauler up in Lake county. We have, what I believe is, the AI motor in our Granites. They are good. Decent power, OK mpg. The AC motors just suck. The 2 we have run like raped apes, but they are always in the shop. Fan hubs, fan clutchs, egr bullshit, water pumps. You get to change hoses and fan belts all the time because they go to shit due to the high under hood temps. We just sent the one into Mack to get re calibrated after changing an EPU. They came back and said that it needed 2 other EPU's changed and the EGR thing replaced. Grand total everything in $7500.00 We went and got it back, cleaned the EGR out and are running it. I guess the good thing is that we have a 95' CH with a million plus on it that can take the place of those 2 turds.
  18. Stick with what you have. I assume that the Vision would have the aset motor. We have 2 of them. We hope that they burn to the ground. Thanks, Brad
  19. I have a bunch of 6 in c channel if that would work. I would look for a double eagle sleeper. imho it is a better built sleeper. Thanks, Brad
  20. I got to watch a Beelman driver lay a trailer on it's side once. Painful to watch as it went over so slow. He told me, and I quote " you ain't a dump bucket driver till you put one over, doing what we do, you will put one over." I was surprised to see how little damage was done to the trailer. The yard up here is in Hammond In.(Chicago) and the equipment is tough looking. Brad
  21. Try JP chrome for the exterior stuff. I have a stainless visor from them on my RD, and it looks great. Gauge covers from a Pete will work. On my small gauges I had to put a small dab of clear silicon to hold them on. Hope this helps. Brad
  22. Damn...........I thought all my hope for change came through. What a let down. Brad
  23. My bet would be T-2060 or T-2070. Brad
  24. Trent, Do you think Robert Bosh is going to give you what you need to get past us?? Just kidding! We will see you on August 13 at Boone County. Brad
