Repainting Mack Mixers
bulldog man replied to usmcjimbo's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
With That Green & White Paint it looks like Cordova Concrete Bulldog's out of the Memphis area . Threw me for a loop @ 1st till I seen the different name before new paint . . The New paint jobs looks good . -
Back Bud . I Been in & out of BMT Fer a few days . I Been making those Early morning runs to the Ms Delta & back @ the shop by 8am @ the latest & then in the gym afterwards . The Hogs are Bad down there in the Ms Delta Farm land . I Got a few buddies who farm In N. MS & all of say the hogs are tearing up their crops especially over on the NE End of MS. & if they or some of their family don't have the time to kill em they are paying folks to hunt the hogs .

In the dump truck business
bulldog man replied to Superdog's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Sounds like a nice B model Mike . -
I have pictures of myself Riding on the fender of 1070 Case @ age 2 or 3 w/ my pop & also sitting in the operators seat & @ the controls 480C Case Backhoe @ age 3 or 4 w/ my buddy "grave digger" (like family to me) beside the backhoe & I knew what lever & pedal did what . they turned me loose @ the controls about 4 or 5 yrs old . Pop & his crew (farm & excavation) turned me loose @ the controls by myself the time I was 6or 7 yrs old (with someone nearby of course). They had me taking trees down w/ excavators & crawler loaders by the time I was 10 or 11 . Hell I had the driving pretty well down by age 10 cause I was raised on a farm & had a hardship license by the time I was 14.

bulldog man replied to Offset-U-bet!'s topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Nice lil U Model Dump . How come all the single axle Mack Dump buckets like I want are always up north ? Just too far away fer me . -
HMM That's an idear right there I wonder if my Landlord would let me move a trailer like this on an empty RV LOT Here a couple lots down from where I currently live here in the trailerhood . Got plenty of buddies w/ day cab tractors I could get a 53' dry box trailer in on the lot easy & I live on a corner & I can back a 1 ton Ford & 1 ton Dodge w/ 25' tire trailer & still have room so I know a 53' trailer will fit in here plus id have 15 more feet to live in as I live in a 12' x40' 1 bedroom trailer . it would be my luck my bosses would want the tires off the trailer for recaps & take the virgin tire & replace them w/ caps ....

What the?
bulldog man replied to countryboy5487's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
What The Hell Happened to this poor Louisville Style Ford ? But now that Marcel said that . That makes sense cause I remember watching a episode of myth busters @ my brothers house w/ a L-8000 OR L-9000 Ford Dump Bucket . in the episode . Sounded like Cummins or Cat motor in the truck that was used in myth busters @ Least they didn't blow the Ford up like they they did The Western R Model Mack Mixer THAT JUST PISSED ME OFF & I Was cussing so loud my brothers neighbors a 1/4 to 1/2 a mile down the road could hear me . I wanted to choke the life out of both of them For that stunt to say it politely. -
Arkansas is a close ride BUT I know id have to lowboy that U Model back to Millington to get past the Chicken Coops . & Wouldn't dare run up or down Hwy 61 TOO MANY BEARS On that road especially around the Casino's @ Robinsonville,Ms. The U Model & the 9500 GMC Both Look like a good project trucks for someone . Wonder if that Jimmy has a 671 (238) Or a 8V71 (318) Detroit in it .

to the Jungle & that's a nice Bulldog you have there . -
Nice find & pics there Jake . There are 2 words that I don't like to hear in the same sentence . It's almost like using cuss words : MACK & DETROIT . Yes I was raised on both BUT I never liked the combination together . I was & always will be a pure breed Mack man . I Believe Roadway Used U Models w/ 6V92 Detroits in them & I remember quite a few running around Memphis back in the day . this wouldn't happen to be 1 of them would it ?

Yw Ive been told my friends & family I have became a gym rat because if im not working or @ home im @ my 2nd home (the gym) on days I don't have much to do (mainly winter) I can spend hours in the gym . I spent 6 hours in the gym 1 day a few days before Christmas 2012 & the Excutive director over the local Millington Branch YMCA Of Memphis & the Mid South told Me laughing & shaking his head quote " GO HOME BEFORE I HAVE TO PUT YOU ON THE PAY ROLL !!" Guess im just determined never go back where I was . I usually do 2 hours a day 6 days a week in the gym myself . I dropped the Truck I drive for a buddy of mine back @ the shop round 7am Wednesday morning after making a early morning run . 1st thing out of the Boss mouth was "Son you going to the gym before going home ? " Told him "yup have I got that predicable ?" he said " yeah everytime I call you I hear weights slamming . " Guess everybody in my daily life knows my routine anymore lol

Personally im not a John Deere Man when it comes to farm equipment (A Yellow deere is another story) but I have oprated them for friends . all my family had was J.I.Case & IH (before the merger) & A handful of AC Traactors & a couple Gleaner combines (sardine can on wheels ) when I came along . They ran JD Before my time but they had a 4620 they bought about 1971 or 1972 that stayed in the shop more than it did in the field . it gave them nothing but trouble & pop said the dealer here didn't want to do nothing about the continuing problem w/ the Hydraulic pump so they replaced it w/ a 1370 Case . But I've never seen or herd a John Deere Farm tractor w/ a 238 (671) Detroit in it . I Bet you would be saying "WHAT YOU SAY ? I CANT HEAR YOU !! " Even a quit conversation w/ a loved 1 @ the end of the day ... I Like a 2 stroke Detroit myself made a good living w/ a 238 , 353 ,371, 453, 471, 6V92 & 318 but im finding myself to liking a 4 stroke motor more & more as I get older . they are so much more quiet (GOD DID I JUST SAY THAT? WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM ? ) it could be cause im 38 yrs old & say WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY ? after all those years of Straight piping the Detroit's that was in the equipment . I had better sense than to straight pipe the trucks w/ Detroits in them as I didn't want the DOT Jacking w/ me no more than they already did @ times . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONZKsdTSPHI

never seen this before
bulldog man replied to russoniellov's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
This truck is in Wynne ,AR. which about an hour & half West of Me . Eastern Arkansas has a lot of Rice fields so yes my guess is this Western R Model was set up for Agricultural work possibly in the rice fields . as I have seen this kind of setup before on farm trucks w/ floats on the steer axle & super singles on the drives in Arkansas & Ms deltas . & yes I agree this truck should not be exported . : -
No Reason to be Embarrassed. hun. Looks good to me

Ya I was told by a retired Salesman for Tri State Mack who I see @ the gym 3 days a week, for along time they couldn't get a new Western Mack here for a number of years . he said for along time that the Western Mack's was restricted to the Western States . But I know as soon as they did JTW Trucking was 1 of the 1st companies here in the Mid South Area to have a SuperDog ! He didn't say exactly why . if I see him tomorrow i'll ask him . -
Nice Little U on Craigslist:
bulldog man replied to umodelnut's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
ya but its a straight 5 spd & I like that lo hole gear for the off road. the truck in philly I could put a bed on it & possibly have enough room for a lift axle & have my 6spd w/o having to change transmissions out like I would the other truck .
