  1. i was keeping a close eye on mine all day, pulled elk mountain 4% grade maybe 4 miles grossing 79,000 had no problem keeping 950 dg. or less and topped it at around 45 mph the giant banana looks real good with that spread axle flat. ya wana grab a couple coils next week and follow me to salt lake city?
  2. I'm going to try to get it to Mackpro cause he is the closest to where I live. Have him run the overhead and check everything out. Would problems with the rocker bolts be covered under engine warranty? Am rapidly approching the end of warranty, would extended warranty be worth it? I'm having trouble getting my local dealership to talk to me about it since I didn't buy this truck there.
  3. Just came through Wyoming, glad I didn't go through Colorado because my enginebreak is doing the samne thing. High is low and low is nothing. Scarey in the hills.
  4. That is exactly where it is leaking dripping down on the framerail. I received 40 pages of the work that has been done to this truck. It was done at the Mack shop in Viriginia Beach. Not sure on the date, will have to check when I get home. When I changed the oil I used Rotella 15w40. I will find out what kind of oil was used in it next week. I hope it is that easy. Is the oil leak on the turbo something that needs to be addressed immediately or is it an oil leak that will piss me off for a long time? Glad I cme through Wyoming instead of Colorado. I am getting almost nothing out of the engine break. I don't know what is up with that.
  5. Purchased truck with 440,000 miles on it. Was told it had a fresh service. At 451,000 did complete service oil and filters. At 451,000 it did not use a drop of oil.through this 11,000 miles It appeared 1 quart low on the dipstick when I filled it up at the time of the service. At 255,000 it showed about 2 quarts low. At 456,600 it read almost a gallon low. Noticed frame was wet below turbocharger. I don't know if it is coming from the turbocharger but it is wet below it. And the linkage that controls the pitch appears to be damp. Am headed west out of Cheyenne Wyoming today. Am going to be pulling over major mountains today. Will do my best to keep exhaust temp below 1000 degrees. This truck had turbocharger replaced between 390,000 and 400,000 miles. Was wondering if there would be any warranty on this turbocharger and if the warranty would carry over to the new owner? I know I lean on you guys a lot but I really appreciate your help.
  6. i must be an idiot with less than half a brain cuz i turned one over on a concrete pad i don't know if 55 ton of screenings had anything to do with it.
  7. i turned one into a side dump, the dump spot wasnt near that bad,
  8. i didn't see any close ups, at 50 feet it looks great.
  9. i will get the ball rolling here i will give $25.00 for it. will anybody top that?
  10. great looking truck, i would drive it, and laugh at whoever passed on it. i think it would be great to learn the ins and outs of a new system on someone elses dime. i think it would be a good idea to cotact the dealer and find out what you need to know whether the old timers do or not. if your owner has the balls, i have read about running a piece of 4" pipe around the dpf , it still works, but routes 50% of exhaust around the system, i would research this alot before i tried it. let us know how it goes......
  11. i have been seeing billboards in Texas that say if you've been involved in an accident with an 18 wheeler even if it is your fault you are still entitled to money. Now I'm seeing advertisements on tv in MO that basically say you can go out, drive your car into the back of an 18 wheeler and it is like hitting the lottery. what the hell.
  12. i dont know what it is or what its worth but i think its cool as heck. what will you take for it????????????????????????
  13. i think i remember without malfunction light, i would have to listen to what the engine and drive train where doing, instead of talking on cell phone.
  14. he never said anything about smoke or not.
  15. i think with a air ride rear axel and a flatbed, this would make a nice pickup.
  16. this is the reply i got,i would trust more if he was a member of BMT.COM Has a little blowby. I put in new rings and reseated the valves. Leaks a little oil. Doesn't miss or knock --- runs decent.
  17. is there any common problem with a truck this old i need to look for??????????

  22. seems the air flow is the same. thanks, i will try to save you some trouble by doing the checks mackpro suggested, if i can't fix it i will try to scrape togather enough money for tolls and head for the windy.
