  1. keeping a couple old farts on the strait and narrow could be a full time job....
  2. i asked more than a couple times if this truck had a fresh service on it when i bought it, and was told yes, just serviced. they replaced both long power steering lines, surely one of the bolts that hold the lines didn't get picked up by accident? maybe used same drain pan for both jobs, screw got left in pan, and drain plug got dropped, it's a long shot, but possible.....
  3. didn,t know you were on here today fjh, pro68 had answered my post erlier if their are no screws like this in the engine then i'm gonna run it and try to forget i ever seen it.
  4. buddy of mine had a theory, if it didnt come out of engine, maybe just maybe, the oil plug got laid next to it, the magnet snatched it up, unoticed, perhaps off of the floor and got put back in without being noticed.????????????????????
  5. if mackpro68 say's that bolt didn't come out of the engine, im gona run it and not worrie about it any more. call it a d@#$k head stunt some body pulled along the way!!!!!! but if it could be out of some thing im gonna check local mack store and see if they want it driven in or towed $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  6. i would call that possible, but the oil fill tube is on the side of the spinner canister(luberfiner) i dont think there is room for it to pass.... have to add oil very slow or it will run over....
  7. that is exactly what it looks like. but are their simaler bolts on the engine brake parts??????
  8. i think there are some oil gallay's (returns) that are large enough for this to pass through, if it came off engine brake sylinoid, or wiring, maybe a ground screw, just guessing i have not seen inside engine that new.
  9. i wonder if this could be an engine brake component. hold a wire loom or somthing on top, under valve covers???????
  10. it mite be a good thing we didn't have this kind of stuff. might not have lived to get old. to young, to far, to fast,
  11. not a very good pix but maybe you can see general shape
  12. it looks like a stainless trim or heat shield bolt. no washer. torx head. not broken. no visible marks, looks perfect. is this a warrenty issue??????
  13. it has a torx head on it. do i need to drop pan before i go any further??????????????????
  14. trying to upload pix now found a 1/4" x 1" bolt stuck to the oil drain plug magnet
  15. was waiting till i got back to the desert. try to get some cool pix out there.
  16. if i do this repair myself??? can i reuse fuel lines??? is it unsafe to do so, or is it just a ploy to make you buy fuel lines??????
  17. mackpro68 i did the checking you advised, it does have a slight leak 3rd cilinder from rear, can it wait till next service?? what kind of cash are we talking??$$$$$ thanks for your help.

  20. thanks 68 i will look very close at all bolts and around manifold. the waist gate makes sence. thats when it is loudest i would realy like to schedual my next service with you, i dono if it needs valve adj. or other things pro's know about. is this possible??????
  21. i think some thing must have been wrong with the turbo on the vision. i thought the extra power from the ch was all in the 393 gears, i was worried about it being short legged when i bought it, but i love it. and my millage is consistant at any resonable speed. came in empty from springfield mo. thursday, i need to set my speed alarm to 80 mph, it was realy hard to keep it under that
  22. it is pretty cool with a screemin turbo and shut down speed set at 88 mph, in a chromed up rawhide toying with the petes @ kw
  23. maybe im just paronoid, not used to running this long without a major repair$$$$$ it seems like my turbo is getting louder????? checked all pipe fittings, every thing is tight and proper, kept an eye on boost pressure around 31 psi when its pulling have seen it spike 36 psi some times. this turbo has about 50,000 miles since it was replaced. i never heard the turbo in my vision. maybe something was wrong with it. maybe it was just that quiet? is it just getting broke in???? do i need to get a smaller muffler so the pipes will drown it out???? would the warrenty transfer with new owner?????? is there some thing i need to keep an eye on???????
  24. im truckin like im a young man, only it hurts. spent last weekend installing stainless full fenders. just over 11,000 miles and only rubed a hole in the air line going to seat. have not added any fluids.... shut it down for a three day weekend, gona give her a service and a real good checking over. when i traded trucks i let them slide on putting my michelin tires on this truck for centermatics all around. i had them on the old truck, and am a firm believer in them, old truck had 8 hole wheels, so the centermatics wouldn't work on this one. and this truck had brand new tires but they are chineeezzze tyres. look like mitchelin copies. im gona start a new post called bigens turbo, would appreciate your opinion.
  25. i greese my drive line and king pins every week, complete every 2 to 4 weeks depending on miles and what kind of weather i've been running in.
