  2. check the line going into commpressor, it should be sweating up to the nut, but not on the nut. if the nut is sweating it has to much......
  3. a plus rep in my book
  4. havent made it to mackpro yet, he wants to put on new air compressor. i just did new steer tires and altinater, now this cab guard and oversise load equip. i am trying to put it off a couple weeks.

  6. i bought a cab guard off a burnt truck in ne. its older and a little beat up. i was thinking of painting it the same color as my truck can you get the paint code from my vin ??????
  7. this winter i saw a truck with supper singles pull into the petro overflow parking in larame,wy. pool table level, while turning around pulling a spread axle, lost his momentum and couldn't pull the spread sideways, had to chain up to get out of the lot.
  8. i thought the don had somthing for him, but he dropped out. im not seeing anybody that can take it, with 51% of the country not paying taxes in 2010, the scales are being tipped against the working man...
  9. that is a top 5 in the world!!!!
  10. i was talking about macks, 2001 was the climax. had camshaft issues but they got that lined out.
  11. wish i had it now, headed east threw Co. on I70 in the am allmost worth the extra 100 miles or so to go around.
  12. 2001 the best trucks ever built. if i had a 2001 i would rebuild it long after there was nothing original but the title.
  13. when mine has to be painted, it will be white hoping to have enough money to have it painted at robs big top paint shop. and otherdog can make a movie about it
  14. took me a while to figure its not random, it does okay sometimes, sometimes acts stupid as low as 6000ft. what nailed it is eastbound 70 in co. come out of the tunnel with no jake brake every time.
  15. i think ive nailed it down, its altitude. checking this trip to make sure but apears to be related to alt. above 10,000ft. boost is below 20 psi. 12,000ft. boost gauge reads get out and push. could this be ecu program issue????????
  16. wellcom aboard sac, don't haf to tell ya how i feel about them petes.
  17. if there is not a odd lenght bolt on the lifter covers, i got a longer bolt mixed in, and faught that leak every evening for days, finaly was wipping oil off to look at it and seen the washer turn, nothing like spending 20 hrs on a 30 second fix
  18. I80 near wy. i passed two sets of three brand new very heavy spect. macks all red i guess granite or GU, all had 20,000 steers, maybe heavier. the neatest thing they were all tri drives, maybe 18 ft. of frame. they appear heavier than mixers.
  19. sombody done sliped you a cat engine. im just tryin to b funny, the pros will be on here and get you fixed up
  20. i guess he will go back to work when the beer is gone,
  21. i guess the morall of the story is happyness depends a lot on where your coming from. i think, maybe.
  22. i know its a free market, but when big oil,the railroad and toyota have enough money to buy up the futures of a commodity, and control the price of it. and has nothing to do with supply and demand. i don't see the difference between that and insider trading if the price is being controled by a small group. then its not a free market.
  23. sorry about that mowerman but you where bashing a mack, and that will allways get an argument from me. i ran from st.charles mo. down i44 to 65 south to mo7 to 71 into frt. smith ar. in the mid to late 80's dump truck and pup dodging the scales grossing between 80 and 90 k. in a 1985 r modle glider with a 285 and a six spd.no pyrometer just watched the water temp. and never had any problems. but i never asked for more than 100%. 300 hp cummins and cat couldn,t make it any quiker than me. when the 350 hp come allong they ate my lunch.but i still wouldn't give up my mack. but i came out of a 1977 r model with a 237 6spd air assit stearing and no a/c, so the 285 with power steering and a/c was like the space shuttle i run ut. co. nv. az. or.wa. mt.wy. all the time iv been threw all the major passes in ca.when i was younger, the ozark mountains in southwest mo. and north west ar. with the kind of roads they had back then would test your skills as much as any of the major hiways out west.
