  1. The fitting shows DOT 1210
  2. It looks like AN uses the -8, -10, etc sizes? It was mentioned that this is SAE so would that be the more common 3/8, 5/16, etc measurements?
  3. Any idea what size this hose would be?
  4. Good information! I will probably stick with the SAE 100R5 Are those original ends pushed on just like a normal barb? I read somewhere that they could be kind of screwed on reverse threads but that might have been something else.
  5. I understand there are probably a few options these days for a replacement such a plain rubber, etc but I would like to keep it somewhat original looking if possible. Would the PTFE like in this link be the correct stuff? https://hotrodfuelhose.com/products/ptfe-lined-black-silver-nylon-braided-hose-an6-an8-an10
  6. My fuel line from the lift pump to the filter is leaking. Is this something still available from the dealer or do people just have them made? Would these be considered AN fittings? Iv browsed the net a bit and see kits to make these style. Are these ends crimped or just pushed on?
  7. I purchased it about 5 years ago from a member of this forum.
  8. I put 80w-90 fully synthetic in the trans and will do the same in the rears.
  9. Changed transmission lube today. Old fluid looked good and magnet was fairly clean so nothing alarming. Expensive Amsoil hooked me again. Haha
  10. Replaced the heater cover as the original had a piece broken off the corner. New decal too.
  11. That's good to know that the cores are available. When looking up from the bottom side I could see some green corrosion toward the tope of the core just under the water tank. I guess it will be the first to let me know when it gives up.
  12. Worked on the Mack this weekend. The coolant flanges on the radiator were leaking so I removed them along with the other 2 block off plates. I blasted and painted the pieces, added new gaskets and stainless hardware. I was a little disappointed with my local Mack dealer as I had to order 10 of the top smaller gaskets when I only needed 2. Apparently they are against having stock of these, Oh well. I replaced the coolant filter and that was quite a chore to removed but I finally got it. Filled with new coolant and it should be in good shape for the next many years.
  13. I was finally able to get one. New part number lists it as a solenoid.
  14. Thanks for the photos. I know what you mean about machines looking bigger when in a shed. I have 2 D7’s and the one in the shed seems twice as big. A D9 is no joke, Iv watched a D8 crawl past thinking that was a hefty piece of iron then a D9 follows and I’m always wowed by just how big they are. Cool stuff. Here is a photo of my Challenger next to my D2.
  15. I just looked and you are correct. I didn’t see that tucked up under the dial. Nevertheless mine reads 4404 hrs whatever that means I guess.
  16. My 79 R686ST was only used to pull a lowboy. Its original and has 118,000 miles and 4400hrs.
  17. I called another dealer and they allegedly can still get them. I placed and order and we will see. My next option would be to have one scanned and reproduced.
  18. Does anyone have a source for the 6 speed shift pattern decal? My local dealer cant get them and ProGear shows them but after I placed an order it was cancelled stating no stock. I'm hoping to locate one somewhere. I might try to call a couple dealers and maybe there is a NOS one sitting on a shelf somewhere.
  19. Well I finally rectified the issue. When the previous owner replaced the rotted out top of the relay he probably didn’t realize the new one had a check valve in the top plug. I didn’t catch that difference either. I went ahead and ordered another relay of the same model the previous owner had purchased which was actually the incorrect model. There was a divider in the bottom housing between two ports that isn’t suppose to be there for this application. Long story short I milled that divider out and removed the check valve in the top brass cap and everything functions as normal.
  20. I figured there would be some members here that also have interest in old cats too.
  21. Quick update - Took the truck to the local dealer and they looked it over. The tech found that my relay was mislabeled on the box and I didn't pay attention to the actual tag so he thinks it might be the incorrect relay. He found it has an extra port under the brass fitting on top. I'm going to swap my old top onto the new base or simply purchase another one and confirm its the correct one this time! The problem appears to be with the service brake and not the emergency brake like I was originally thinking. It only affects the front drive axle though when everything is hooked up.
  22. Thanks guys, Ill do that later this week and keep ya updated. Appreciate the help as always!
  23. Yes the driver side looks pretty new but the passenger side one looks like it could be original.
  24. I didn't get that far. The service brakes appear to work great though with that rubber hose unhooked and relay capped. It appears to just be an issue with the parking brake? Could I possibly have a bad air chamber on the front drive axle? This is the only place that uses the parking brake style air chambers.
  25. Well I installed the new relay and still have the same problem. Possible bad quick release was mentioned. I will have to dig further into this.
