  1. Found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mack-B61-Thermodyne-Diesel-Truck-/322261137670?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4b0842b906:g:wYUAAOSwPCVX2Jlc&item=322261137670
  2. Looks like its had a fair amount of touchup done on it. You can see the over spray on the tires. Still very nice old truck. I would like to see the engine.
  3. Great read! Thanks for posting.
  4. Great pics! Thanks for sharing.
  5. I'll tease you guys a little! My B was ordered with the 55gal aluminum tanks on both sides. I believe its more rare to have the 55gal on the driver side. As that side was able to fit the larger if wanted and most probably did. The pass side usually had the smaller as the exhaust would be in the way for the larger.
  6. What a great looking rig. I am not familiar with those models, What would that have for an engine? -Jeremy
  7. So I was watching youtube videos and somehow ended up viewing a few with Detroit diesels. I was reading through some of the posted comments under each video and found one that was rather funny here is what it read: "An old driver once told me, that the 2 stroke Detroit was written about in the Bible. That one day, there would come a great beast. That would roar like thunder, belch fire and smoke, and crawl across the face of the earth" I had a good laugh when I read this. -Jeremy
  8. Trailer is looking good!
  9. They are great bikes indeed! I have an 01 Bonneville and an 06 Scrambler. Triumph did a great just with the retro styling most people cannot tell them from the 60's models. -Jeremy
  10. Welcome to the forum! You have come to the right place for Mack knowledge.
  11. Found this on craigslist: https://fortdodge.craigslist.org/hvo/5494396675.html
  12. Congrats on your new purchase. They are fun old trucks.
  13. Looks like a nice truck. Welcome to the Mack family.
  14. Looking for one stainless Mack bubble mirror in good condition before I buy new. Thanks -Jeremy
  15. Like you already know, avoid lugging the engine. I think headgasket problems plagued the earlier 711's more than the later models.
  16. Is your truck a light weight model? I ask because you mention the bumper in the 2nd pic is aluminum and it does look original. I have only seen tow hooks on the extended style bumpers. -Jeremy
  17. Great pics! Looks like a fun day for both grandpa and grandson.
  18. Looks like it could have been much worse.
  19. Now thats a load!
  20. I am a purist for the most part but I like what you are doing. I would say your work looks top notch from what I can see. I really like the details on the engine, looks great. Keep up the good work!
  21. I have looked at the Eastwood units before, Might be another option.
  22. There were about a dozen extra holes in the radiator guard that I had to weld up. I have everything all bagged up ready for coating. I still haven't decided if I want to have them painted or powder coated. I plan to get quotes on both and then decide. I will be ordering new stainless acorn nuts and bubble mirrors soon, debating on ones with the MACK script or just plain to save a few bucks.
