  1. No problem 607t,no offense taken! I was just going to tell you,"No,I meant the B-model and Waylon Dorner who is going to restore Miss Jessi" Cool story about the B C R's.Did they all end up in truck heaven? Mine had a Olson (Green Bay,Wis.truck body co.) tag on it when I bought it ,but it was SHOT.Sometimes I think about puttin' one back on it and a 36" bunk.Used to see some of those as a kid.
  2. That IS cool! That guy,Waylon Dorner, had a couple trucks at South Bend (ATHS-2011).That is a fitting tribute to the "Hoss",having a guy named Waylon, restore his truck! :twothumbsup:Would love to see the H-67.Hopefully, somebody here knows what happen to it.
  3. Oh sh!t on the background check,Mike. You're screwed!!
  4. Lotsa good info on here,be careful, you could end up a very dangerous person!
  5. I'm all out of "likes" for today. But you guys hit it right on the head! Give credit where credit is due(like what has been going on all along),duh? If you got a problem with that, get rid of that dress you're wearing, and try Levi's and a flannel shirt! The business of asking permission for use of a photo of MY truck or anyone elses,is pure unadulterated BULLSHIT! IT"S A HOBBY,DAMMIT! Al
  6. Thank's again, Jim!! Oh, and Happy Birthday to anyone who's birthday is TODAY out there!!!!
  7. More than fair,Barry! You done good! Uh oh,Mike............I owe you $_________,
  8. I hear ya.You'll do the right thing, whatever it is.!
  9. No kiddin',Ron! I am flattered when someone takes a picture of my truck, being its something that I (and good friends) spent many hours and $$$ on and enjoy driving & showing it. I would like to think the guy who snaps the photo, would also be flattered at seeing his work (photography) being displayed somewhere. Its not like we are doing a diservice to anybody's work, sheesh! TOTAL BLASPHOMY!!! The damn commies are showin' up on the shores of BMT!!! Al
  10. How'd you like to hit a deer or the occasional stray bull with that one? YIKES!! Guess thats why the TEAMSTERS were so opposed to its use by the big fleets. I remember that being in all the big truck mags at the time. The driver sat in it like he was driving a damn Corvette! Aluminum cab and all.You write your own obituary in your logbook, before you take off!
  11. I've seen that set-up (Hend. AR2) and thought that it might be the way to go for certain applications!
  12. 10-4,Barry.Thanks for keeping us informed (and for being the Webmaster,as well).................Al
  13. Great to hear! Had a great time last year. Saving my vacation time for Macungie this year, but hopefully can squeeze in Gerhart's,again! It was great to put a face(& a truck in some cases) , with you guys that I have the privilege of bullshittin' with on BMT! And what a better place than Gerhart's to get together! Thanks to Roger & crew, and to Doug Maney and the Central Pa. Chapter-ATCA for putting this all together!
  14. Nice! Thats the way I heard it,first a Diamond T,and then the Emeryville (and the smaller IH low cab forward). I also like the story behind the original "Tilt-Cab".I think that was explained in W O T years ago.Named after C. A. Tilt,.President of the Diamond T Motor Car Co.
  15. Dan Pegram restored this beauty that he had on display at South Bend-ATHS 2011.His job on this and his others, speak very highly of his love for these Chicago (Lyons)-built trucks. Check out the Hendrickson trademark pedals in the 2nd photo.
  16. Yes it was! But standard motor was the NTA (first series) then the NTC 400 Cummins. The late Del DeYoung's collection includes a FLP with an 8V-92 TA in it.Again you could have gotten that engine in a standard FLA,but the BIG radiator was no doubt a plus.
  17. Really? Wonder why? Probably not enough money in it for volvo or something.right? Too bad,MACK was always big on gliders. But then again, that was when they were MACK......sniff,sniff...........
  18. Your Chicago area R of the day goes to ...... Eagle Express,a U.S. Mail Carrier. This one was on display at the ATHS-South Bend,In., show back in 2011. Brian Dhamer photo
  19. Yep, I think you should let ME buy that truck and I'll find you a "well-proven" 300/6 speed,P/S,wet kit R model from up here (might not be real pretty). I know its tough sometime to justify the purchase of such a truck,Jake, without getting a return off of it. I think to work it would be a shame. But on the other hand,It's a MACK,and wouldn't be allergic to workin' for a livin',anyway! I confess,I'm torn!!
  20. Very diplomatic of you,Barry! Well said, too! I have used truck pictures of other folks on here, but always leave their name on the bottom or put it off to the side, out of respect and give thanks to them for taking such an interesting picture.I could have chopped the name off of just about every picture and called it mine, but I don't treat other people like that. After all, doesn't Hank's "link" to other sites,as well? We could go on and on about this, but for what? We all very much enjoy this forum to bring us back (even for just a little while),to the "good old days" where we didn't have 1.5 miilion shithouse lawyers per square mile and just enjoy a little conversation among friends.Barry, again, thanks for putting it so well to Mr. Sissick................Al Rhino..............Good Day!
  21. As far as rear axle capacity goes,it's just a spring change until you get up to 44,000 and above, isn't it? The trunnions are known crack, keep an eyeball on that too!
  22. It does. But then again, how many trucks out there haven't been altered in some way?Besides, the BCR isn't real original anyway! I'm not trying to change the look of it,just the way the bumps treat my restoration,I guess!
  23. For on/off road, its hard to beat camelback, with the PDLO option.I would like to try a Chalmers equipped MACK.I like the articulation of that suspension. Not crazy about air ride.It all depends on the application, though. On the antique truck side of the coin,I always thought air ride would help you preserve a restoration.Guess I'll have to try that.
