  1. Nice pics,Mark! That LT was really a deluxe truck, with that big bunk and all,WOW!
  2. Yes,Matt is right! Even early R model green is not Alpine (or Detriot) Green! To me,the best way to match any of your paint,is to bring a sample into your paint supplier. They can match it (for a price)and it will look right when your done! .............................My 2 cents!
  3. The A-51 (same style cab) used an oil bath on the driver's side, mounted like this: I would look through a Donaldson,Fram,or Farr online catalog,I'm sure they have something that would work.Just make sure you choose one for the CFM your engine is requiring.A new one will probably cost you some coin, but your engine says its worth it! (by the way that is a BEAUTIFUL A model pictured)
  4. No,they come rootin' around here too! They will pay for the hauling or even driving to the NYC ports, just to get their hands on one of these proven workhorses!
  5. They sure did, mackdaddy and 80% of them were pulled by MACKs!
  6. .........And your Chicago area R-Model of the day belongs to...........Milburn Bros.
  7. Just a handful Bigdogtrucker.I think most of the old Macks have taken a "boat ride"..........sad, but true! ...sniff,sniff............
  8. As Trent said,Hilbilt is a big trailer up here. You will see some Palmers around here from time to time.Another guy that I used haul with, had an aluminum Palmer that had the 'swirl' design like a Ravens on it.I heard they were later sued because that design was a patent for Ravens.Any truth to that jakebrake86?
  9. Don't forget Heil,Trent. They were a big player in the dump trailer market around here too.Celli was a HUGE Heil user.I don't know when they quit building dump trailers? Quite a few of their old ones (Celli's) were still around not too long ago!
  10. And your Chicago area R-Model for the day belongs to......................Mil-Ron Trucking,Inc.
  11. Thanks,Vinny.Looks to be a '73-4,still using the oilbath air cleaner, but the new for mid-'73 cab!
  12. ...........Your Chicago area R-Model of the day belongs to:.......A.A. Conte,Inc.
  13. And your Chicago area Mack R-Model of the day belongs to:..........Dezutel Inc.
  14. Yes,Happy Birthday everyone!!!
  15. A guy with a nice original K 100 (he was at Lititz) put a big drop visor like that on his truck.Another guy commenting about his truck on YouTube asked why he mounted that bumper accross his windsheild like that? (being sarcastic) I had to laugh!
  16. The 285,315 (300+),and the 1st 2-valve 350's had tip turbine equipped intercoolers on them.
  17. As long as you stick with the 672 cu. in. (675,676,type engines) wouldn't think there would be much in your way. Ron( b61mack) has a beautiful example of a B with an R model powertrrain in it! 300+,13 speed,Mack rears on Neway air,and Matt Pfahl's 350,12 speed,Mack rears on Neway.....SLICK!
  18. Sharp non-Mack,O.D.!! The cabs do feel 12 feet wide after being in an R-model or a Transtar (what I learned on)!
  19. And your Chicago area R-Model for the day(and first one for 2013) is: None other than Sid Kamp Trucking! Happy New Year!!
  20. Actually,Vinny,a 237 isn't that far behind the NTC-335 in torque, and way ahead in reliability. But it is one of those trucks I always wanted to own.I was just lucky to find an original '70 with just shy of 400,000 miles on it!
  21. I have seen a B-61 with an R model column (and P/S box) in it. Guess it works out pretty well for him.
  22. That's nice, David........everything but the starting bid...WOW!!
