  1. Oh!.................10-4!
  2. 10-4,Jim! .................and I almost forgot........Here is your Chicago R-Model of the day................. A sharp 300 Series (originally gold) R 686ST belonging to Richie Celli (Gene Celli's cousin).The guy who painted my B C R painted all R.E. Celli's trucks.Color: Honduras Maroon!
  3. Vinny,heres another one.......
  4. Looks like that poor DM recieved some T L C...........Torch Level (&) Come-along! Admit it,that took some skill. Why just before he attempted that feat,he was a butcher! ..................................motor looks more like an NH-250 to me (unless there was no room for the turbo,so it got left out!)
  5. Check out the '74 RL700L (wrong model,actually an F) grain truck.That one doesn't look too bad.
  6. Sorry Jim,I gotta go with the kid on this one! It has to be mid '73 to '75 I'm thinkin'. Either way,a classic NO COMPUTER,NO TRACTION CONTROL,NO GPS,NO AUTO SHIFT,Can't say no Anti-Lock (might of had 121 brakes on it),NO B.S. TYPE OF GET THE JOB DONE kind of truck!
  7. Good for you,Trent.Hopefully, that seat will be a good one for you.Armrests are a nice option.
  8. The Eldorado was one of the most comfortable (to me) & also the most misunderstood seat when it was introduced. If you tried to adjust like a Bostrom, you were going to get a crappy ride from it.Seems anybody who had to move my truck failed to see the little yellow lever that "lift to adjust" (in conjunction with the air valve). They have eliminated that, and hopefully corrected many a drivers view of that seat.I ran that seat in my truck for 7 years & replaced it with their "El Camino" seat, which I thought was a good one also!
  9. My '90 RD with Camleback & power divder lock out went off roading at many jobsites.Didn't have to wait for the automatic PD to start working, just locked it in and went! That combination along with urethane centers & insulators, proved to be a GREAT, low maintainance, all around suspension for a construction truck. The air ride cab & Eldorado seat (& my Chiropractor) made life easy on my back! Air ride is OK,just didn't want it to be ahead of me at the jobsite. I would usually have to wait for a machine to drag Mr. Air ride out of my way,so the REAL trucks could dump & get back for another one! I would like to try a Chalmers equipped Mack, though.I really like the articulation of that suspension.Easy to rebush, simple,no maintainance,no B.S. design.
  10. Your Chicago R Model of the day is............ Feltes Sand & Gravel
  11. Oh yeah, mackey. They (R models) were everywhere! How about Lyman Martin?
  12. I've been trying to find out just how many C-tilt cabs were built. Can't seem to find it anywhere.I do remember an article about the longevity of the production ('57-'90),but never heard of an actual count.Anybody know?
  13. And here are your Chicago R Models of the day....................... 2 for Budron Excavating!
  14. I think you need to channel down a U-model hood to fit on that sled!
  15. Nice truck there,DigDug! Prolly easy to get a shit eatin' grin in your business! .....Just sayin'! You'll be #1 in the #2 business with that unit! Nice!
  16. Probably,Mike. But he still had to get around on the Chicagoland jobsites (where there is 700 homes on 40 acres!).And it most likely beat the 165" wb. or so R685ST he might have had before this truck! His son,Ray Jr.(who recently died),also was a V-8 Mack lover (& good people too).
  17. Looks like Papa is getting the U-model/snowmobile conversion kit ready! I see the tracks are right next to it! (& sled for extra parts) Again,Merry Christmas to you & the family!
  18. Here's your Chicago R-Model of the day................and Merry Christmas to All!!............. That's the late Ray Ravagnie,Sr.,owner of Schaumburg Trucking, behind the wheel of his RS795LST Mack!
  19. That was my theory Slpwlker :grease is MANDATORY,polish is EXTRA! Although a clean truck is a happy truck!
  20. Yes! I have been out of Reagan's Army too long! Too many years of eating burgers & fries and not enough PT will do that to a guy!
  21. Yes, Congrats F W D! I had to drop 30 pounds & lower my sugar too,and yogurt instead of EDY'S helped that situation! Like You & Jim said,If eating Chobani removes "Man Points",so be it.I just don't want them lobbing off toes and then feet! Glad you are feeling great!
  22. Yes it would.I have an '80 C-8000 w/3208 (175hp) & Allison that needed a bunch of stuff.A friend of mine hooked me up with a retired fire truck that had been robbed of its 3208 and bought the clean carcass for a mere $500! STEAL!!
  23. That I don't know,Mike.Tom said it was a 400 horse.Had to be the ET1005 or something,right? He couldn't remember the year either.A 797 would have been an 375 horse ENDT866,correct?
  24. He would have Matt, but he was too busy puttin' his (tire) chains on the Schwinn!
