  1. Those(all) DM's were pretty...............PRETTY TOUGH!!!!! My cousin had 2 '69 DM685S's. You could'nt beat 'em.237,6 speed OD trans,5.73 rears on camleback.........TOO TOUGH!!!
  2. I thought you might have meant this one!
  3. Kevin,Walking beam suspensions are used in mixer chassis ( like the B-53),purely for the reason that they don't allow the suspension to flex much (if at all) while the drum is turning. The company I work for used solid mount walking beam suspensions for years. Now the last bunch of Granite mixers they got in,were ordered with Chalmers suspension.I haven't talked to any of the drivers to see if the "flex" is really an issue. 4. Nice truck! Seen it at Gerhart's, too.I don't think the 30k asking price is that bad.Considering that it costs you $135,000.00 for a new PLASTIC truck that isn't worth half of that in my opinion! .....................................sorry,my 2 cents!
  5. Welcome! Like Freightrain says unloader(or even the governor) could be sticky.Common (& minor) problem in trucks that sit a while.
  6. ..............By the way, where was MACK (your dog) through all of this? Didn't you bring your buddy with to be the ring bearer or anything?
  7. We have a local outfit that competes with them(Mt. Carmel) and they are all over the place too these days, stabilizing the soil mostly for service roads for "wind farms".Yeah, they do get hauled around.Probably like driving a farm tractor long distance!
  8. Looks great!! Thanks for posting the pictures!!
  9. Does look like one Mt. Carmel's trucks, doesn't it? The company I work for had a ton of those,as mixers. They got rid of them because too many guys were falling (not paying attention,I guess),while getting out of them,,,, DOH!!
  10. Congratulations Trent & Sarah!!
  11. Its missing the drivers side door, too! Hmmm thats where you and Papa got that left door from!
  12. Jim, I was told Schwerman used Roadrangers in their B-61's.A guy up in Madison,Wis. owns one. He's been working on it for years.Haven't seen it..
  13. Parkhurst sure had a passion for the success of the owner/operator,and wasn't afraid to share it! I met him @ MATS in Louisville in the late '90's while he was inspecting a new Freightshaker.
  14. Good memory,Matt.I was thinking the same thing!
  15. Matt, I think thats because the gassers (especially 42's,421's) didn't get the hours or miles the 61's got on 'em,ya know?
  16. As a guy that makes his living driving a 40 ton haul truck everyday, this IS cool! Wish we could see it run!
  17. You and Papa got a a lot of work done this year! 2 thumbs up to ya!
  18. Yep, the Handshakers! No kiddin' about the waste of a bunch of B models,Vision!
  19. Sorry to hear it, also. R.I.P. Ben.A MACK legend in the Lone Star State.
  20. Should be a B-815 if it was built with the V-8 in it.Rare truck.
  21. Watch out T-Bone.Houghton is a college town.Loaded with Snow-Bunnies!! If you do get stranded, good as place as any!! Driving along Lake Superior can be fun this time of year also. That area wrote the book on "lake effect snow"!Truck Safe
  22. Yes,OVERDRIVE did pick a part the trucks when they did their "Tractor Dissection Reports".Good thing too. Most manufacturers got on the ball, and corrected their faults then reported back to Mike Parkhurst & crew! I remember an article, in which he wrote "I refuse to do another report on a FORD cabover until they have proven to me they have built a truck that is worthy of my time to do it".They then developed the CL-9000. The stories he did on MACK & BROCKWAY were usually very favorable,as they should have been!
  23. When going through the very same ordeal (while replacing intake hose on the BCR), I got that hose from a PAI dealer in my area.I don't normally like to use their stuff. But with MACK stocking less and less of the "old stuff",sometimes it is the only way to go.Good thing the hose I bought was better quality than other PAI parts I bought(and had to send back).
