  1. ......got any U models? .........or how 'bout some Alka-Seltzer(also for Vinny)! Seriously, welcome! That Super Liner sounds nice.
  2. Doug M. was talking about the date for that show while we were at Gerhart's.Only wished we could have stayed in "town" just a little while longer to go to that show too! Looked like a good one!
  3. In the mid '70's,a magazine called "Truck Tracks" featured a W 900 glider kit that was working for Sea-Land on the Alaska Pipeline, that had been built with a 325 Maxidyne V-8 in it.If I remember right, the guy bought all brand new components to do it!
  4. Mike,I thought you had one of those original MACK fifth wheels in your inventory? That would be a good match.Don't worry about not havin' a trailer, one will show up at your doorstep when you (or Wendy) least expect it!!
  5. Mike, its just a guess.Maybe his title & data plate say B-83! I believe part of the story on TV said his grandfather used it in his wrecking yard for like 35 years, before they restored it.I wondered the same thing the first time I saw it,also. It is a beauty though,I give it that!
  6. Some of these dealers are looking to "cut a fat hog in the ass" with their new found "treasures". I'm sure they're hoping the exporters are in town, with prices like that!
  7. Do you have hub-piloted wheels on the drives? I had a problem a few years back with a slightly loose set binding then shifting and beating the snot out of the hub until the pilots (4) were badly grooved. They would SNAP & POP.Had a couple guys tell me it sounded like a rear end mssing a tooth! Pulled the rear carrier then pulled the truck outside & it still did it!! DOH!! Glad I was the one that found it,rather than a shop$$$$$!!!! Just a thought!
  8. That IS a nice Brockway! Was never much of a WHITE (truck) fan But,it is old,so its cool!!
  9. Those are nice! Still think that is my favorite MACK logo. Will have to order some.
  10. I know I've brought this up before, but there is an old MACK video of these trucks in action on there way up to Alaska.I saw it back in the '90's at a truck show in Milwaukee.Anyone else ever seen it,or know where to get a copy?
  11. Looks real nice,Jim! Winter won't go by fast enough for you!
  12. .....& just order the "Custom Built For" ring from Watt's (around $18.00) get it engraved at a shopping mall and ,WALLAH!! You'll be back in business,Bandit!!
  13. I know the blanks are really hard to find. A locksmith can "re-key" your old ignition & lock tumblers to fit a used Mack key.Tom Bronge had it done for his B-815,"Big Iron".Might be another way to use the old MACK bulldog keys.
  14. Ron, as far as I know his widow kept the truck to pass down to Ron's grandson.Yes it was a sweet truck. He offered me a "job" as co-driver to the Reno national show (that got moved to Colo. Springs). He told me a guy who offered to go out there with him backed out because he did not have a/c or p/s on his truck! He had been taking chemo treatments but was feeling good enough to go(at the time).I don't seem to make it to too many national events unless they're close (darn this workin' for a livin').
  15. Thats all right Alex,my truck was mistaken for a Riemer truck!
  16. Good deal! Love those easy fixes! A couple of elbows and some clamps & painted 4" pipe shouldn't set you back too much, providing that the bracket on the frame (just behind the cab) and the hanger are still on the cab.If not,a local fabricator should be able to come up with a bracket of some sort. With that short wheelbase though, the box might be too close to the cab to mount a stack(hence the weedburner set-up).
  17. Right! Although it does have V-8 emblems on the hood (probably added later).
  18. The G753 from Wisconsin, belonged to the late Ron Ebert. He told me it was going overseas last time I had talked to him, before he passed.I want to say Belgium or somewhere. It was a pretty straight truck as I remember(minus the fact it had a 262 instead of its original 205).He told me he had plans of turning it into a Pirkle truck (whom he was leased to in the '60's & '70's).His wife asked,"how are you going to drive 2 trucks to the show?"(not a problem for me,when done one at a time!).He agreed with her and decided to sell it. Also that B-733 sleeper cab looks cool.Looks like it has the small radiator too (rare)! That Clariben hooded B was featured in the Clariben brochure I have from '74.When I find it ,Mike I will post the pic.
  19. I remember when Mike Pagel picked up that LJ and brought it to Hess's place in Byron (Ill.),Mike.He fired it up and let it idle the whole time our meeting was going on! It was great!
  20. Would be a nice addition to the BCR! Didn't know they even had them in the steel dash days!
  21. Superdog prolly already bought the last one,Vinny!!!
  22. Nice pictures,Ken.Wish we could have came back out for that show too!
  23. Hey Mike, that looks familiar
  24. My uncle bought a few Caddys from there.I was always buggin' him for the emblems.Go figure!!
